Thoughts from Sister Jeannine There’s nothing like a clean start! A kindergartener’s laundry faux-pas gave me a good laugh this week. It seems the little one knew uniforms go in the wash and to her shoes were part of the uniform so in they went! Mom is trying to dry them out. But it got me thinking of how good is the feeling when that laundry basket is empty (if only for 10 minutes) or the house is finally cleaned up and looking less like a cyclone went through. A clean start and new fresh beginning! Last Sunday - Catechetical Sunday - stressed the theme that all catechists teachers of the faith like parents and formal teachers - are called to teach and show God’s loving forgiveness. What a grace to believe that and what a great grace to celebrate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Last Saturday hundreds of people went to Daylesford Abbey for Abbey Fest a day of praise and worship. I was not able to get there until 6:00 PM and was afraid I was too late for Reconciliation. But then little by little about 8-10 Norbertine priests came out to the lawn where two chairs were set up all around and the lines for Confession grew and grew. And this was after Confessions had been heard all day. By 8:00 in the candlelight procession of the Eucharist and Benediction, the sight and sound of praise and worship was truly “awesome” as many (including me) walked away feeling new with a sparkling clean, grace-filled start! Maybe I should wet my shoes to remind me of this as the days go forward!!! God bless and I hope you can share this joy and grace yourself. THIS WEEK HOLDS MANY PIECES OF INFORMATION - PLEASE READ ON! Expressions of Gratitude and Congratulations 1. Sweet kudos to Linda Collins and Kristen Campbell who coordinated the ice cream social. For all those that

attended – free ice cream and pretzels seemed to fit the bill! Thanks 2. Daily Mrs. D’Amore accomplishes a miraculous amount of tasks and handles all with calm and efficiency. But the

directory this year was especially difficult because she had to work from the totally new data base and to say it was not easy would be a large understatement. But she did it and the 1,000+ other things that everyone asks of her! It is a valuable resource for us all. If you do note any errors please alert us and a correction will be noted in the next communication.

    3. Utter and humble gratitude to our donors from our school and parish, but also from the broader civic community whose donations to the PA EITC program and to our own SSJ Catholic Education Fund have allowed us to distribute $130,750 in tuition assistance for this year. When praying with your children, whether you are a recipient or not, please include prayers for these benefactors.

    4. SSJ 3rd Grade Brownie troop made SPARK magazine’s Fall2014/Winter2015 issue. They got a full page article for the girls’ journey to earn the Free Being Me badge. You can see the online copy by clicking the below link…http://www.gsep.org/media/files/COMM_14_Spark_FallWinter_Mag_MECH%20crw3.pdf

of the world be united to one another in fidelity to the Gospel. May the example of the Holy

Family, with the aid of your Holy Spirit, guide all families, especially those most troubled,

to be homes of communion and prayer and to always seek your truth and live in your love.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, pray for us!
