Jr. Detective: A baby or toddler

A “read-to-me” child

An early reader

Usually younger than 3rd grade Read or listen to books, enter book titles on your online

reading log either at home or with the help of your librarian, and come to your local McAllen Library location

to pick up your prize when you reach these levels:

10 books—receive a level 1 prize

20 books—receive a level 2 prize

30 books—receive a level 3 prize

40 books—receive a Certificate of Achievement and an invitation to the End-of-Program Party.

Every 10 books over the 40-book goal enables Jr. Detectives to visit one decorating station. Each station

features a themed cutout for each child to personalize.

For example, a Jr. Detective reaches the 40-book goal, then reads 10 more books (for a total of 50 books) and visits a decorating station. She reads ten more books (for

a total of 60 books) and visits another decorating station, and so forth.

Lee o escucha libros, agrega los títulos de los libros leídos en tu lista de lectura en línea en tu casa o con la

ayuda de tu bibliotecaria, y ven a tu biblioteca de McAllen a recoger tu premio cuando llegues a los

siguientes niveles:

10 libros—recibe un premio del nivel 1

20 libros—recibe un premio del nivel 2

30 libros—recibe un premio del nivel 3

40 libros—recibe un certificado de aprovechamiento y una invitación para el Gran Fiesta de Cierre.

Cada 10 libros leídos después de la meta de 40 libros le

da la oportunidad a un Detective Menor a visitar una estación y decorarla. Cada estación tendrá un tema diferente y una decoración especial.

Por ejemplo, un Detective Menor llega a su meta de 40 libros, entonces lee 10 libros más (para un total de 50

libros) y puede visitar una estación para decorarla. Lee 10 libros más (para un total de 60 libros) y visita otra estación para decorarla, y así sucesivamente.
