ANNUAL REPORT 2017 – 2018
Sri Ranganathar Institute of Engineering and Technology (SRIET), was incepted for theupliftment of the rural youths as the progress of any nation depends upon the education of itsyouth. With organized activity and maintained enthusiasm, a loyal and efficient work is beingdone for the great cause from world-class engineering and technological education.
Sri Ranganathar Institute of Engineering and Technology was established by theFounder Sri. V.Narayanasamy under SRI Trust in the year 2011. At present there are fivebranches of Engineering Courses offered namely CIVIL, CSE, ECE, EEE & MECH.
INFRASTRUCTURE & HUMAN RESOURCES
The College has sufficient Infrastructure Facilities that includes well-furnishedSmart Class rooms, Spacious Drawing Halls, Sophisticated Laboratories, Separate Hostel forBoys accommodating 300 boys and for Girls with 106 Girl Students., Conference Hall, DiningHall, Auditorium, an Individual Exam Cell, Placement and Training Hall, Group DiscussionHalls, well Stocked Library and all other facilities as Stipulated by AICTE and AnnaUniversity Chennai, with a built up area of 20350 square metres spreaded around 10.05 acres.An ATM Centre is located outside the Main Gate.
LABORATORY EQUIPMENTS:All the Laboratories are fully equipped with advance Equipment’s and Instruments tocarry out the experiments as stipulated by the AICTE and Anna University, Chennai. In almost allLaboratories the students are facilitated to carry out the Experiments beyond regular Curriculum.LIBRARYThe Library is Equipped with 12000 books, 50 National Journals and 25 InternationalJournals, e- journals for all the branches more than 800 in number as per AICTE norms withunlimited access, with an annual commitment of 25 Lakh rupees. Our college has become memberin “NATIONAL DIGITAL LIBRARY” through which staffs and students can access e-books and e-materials.

FACULTY:All the Departments including S&H are headed by Qualified and experienced Faculty andall the remaining Faculty are also Qualified and experienced as per norms of Anna University,Chennai. In our college 6 faculties are Ph.d holders and 11 faculties are pursuing their Ph.D. andall others are holding PG Degrees.ADMISSION AND SCHOLORSHIPS:Totally 788 students are pursuing their engineering course with various departments inour college. It is the vision and mission of our chairman & Institution to help and bring the reallyneeded, poor, economically down, rural people up in their life. In that mission many are given freeeducation in this campus and very many are given education on concession basis. All SC and STstudents are given free education more than 167 students are taking up their education with netscholarship of Rs 89 lakhs provided by our Management.

INSTITUTION LEVEL ACTIVITIES
In order to motivate the young mind and to provide them. All possible ways to explore theEngineering world, very many programmes are being arranged in our campus bringing eminentpersonalities from industry and academia.In that way many number programmes are arranged during this year and the list follows. Fresher’s Day for the 07th Batch of students was held on 21th July 2017. The Chief Guestfor the day was Dr.T.V Christy, Director, Mechanical Science, Karunya University,Coimbatore. Second Graduation Day was held on 20th August 2017. Mr.Rajendran Dhandapani,
Director of Engineering, ZOHO Corporation, Chennai was the guest and distribute thedegree certificates. ONAM FUNCTION was celebrated on 28th August 2017 in our campus. To up hold our culture “PONGAL FESTIVAL “was celebrated in our campus on 12thJanuary 2018. MUTHAMMIL MANDRAM was inaugurated on 8th February 2018 by Mrs.Bhuvana
Jeevanandham, a well-known Radio anchor at Coimbatore.
A National Level technical Symposium “SRISTI-2K18” was organized on 24th February2018, Dr.V.Krishnaraj Associate Professor, Dept. of Production Engineering, PSG
College of Technology, Coimbatore was the key note speaker. To bring extracurricular activities among students “FINE ARTS CLUB “was inauguratedon 7th March 2018. “INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY “was celebrated on 8th march 2018, Dr.A.Sharmila
Banu, Ph.D(Zoology) North Regional Manager, Hycon Machines, CODEA Park,Coimbatore, was the chief guest and delivered the felicitation address. Dr.Asha R Rao, Director RAO Hospital and Dr.Parvathi Physiologist RAO Hospitaldelivered the special guest lecture on “WOMEN HEALTH IMPROVEMENT AND STRESS
MANAGEMENT “on 21th march 2018 organized by Women’s Empowerment Cell of theinstitution.

DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES
CIVIL
The Civil Engineering Association VISCA was inaugurated on 23rd August 2017 byEr.S.Kalaikovan, from Police Housing Corporation.
Lt.S. Esan & Prof. Anto from Centre for Career in Uniformed Services, delivered aspecial Lecture on “Career on Indian Armed Forces”. Dr.R. Malathy, Professor / Dean R&D, Sona College of Technology delivered aspecial Lecture on “Innovations in Concrete” on 7th February 2018.
CSE
The CSE Association ZEAC (Zest Effendi Association of Computer Science) wasinaugurated on 2nd August 2017 by Mr.R.Srinivasan (CTO), AR Mobile Apps Pvt Ltd &
Galactus Enterprises Pvt Ltd. Chennai. The CSE Association ZEAC inaugurated four ZEAC Clubs namely Hardware Babbagian’s,
Software – Top ITian’s , Network – Darpa and Designing – Endhiran’s Club on 23rdSeptember 2017. Mr.Sriya Kanagaraj, Software Engineer, Thomson Reuters delivered a special guestlecture on “Short Film Making” on 5th January 2018 organized by ZEAC Designing -
Endhirans 5.0 Club. The CSE Association ZEAC Hardware – Babbagian’s Club organized “Pc System
Assembly Live Demo Programme” on 1st February 2018. The CSE Association ZEAC Software – Top ITan’s Club organized “Coding and
Debugging Contest “on 6th February 2018.ECE:
The ECE Association ERNICA was inaugurated on 30th August 2017 by Dr.Anbalagan
Thangavel , Software Architect, Robert Bosch, Coimbatore. Mr.R.S.Venkatachalam B.E., M.S., Managing Director, Wizard Systems & Renso
Academy of Excellence, delivered a special Lecture on “Embedded Systems and its
Applications”. Mr.P.Anjesh, Motivational Speaker, delivered a special seminar on “Career Guidance
and Skill Development”.

The EEE Association EMEER was inaugurated on 22th August 2017 by Prof.L.Ashok
Kumar, Professor, Dept of EEE, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. The EEE Association EMEER Organized two days national level Workshop on “POWER
SYSTEM ANALYSIS USING MI POWER AND EMBEDDED SYSTEM USING ADVANCED
MICRO CONTROLLER” on 29th and 30th January 2018. Prof. Kirupanandhan, Associate
Professor, Department of EEE, Suriya Group of Institutions delivered the session.MECHANICAL
The Mechanical Association MESA was inaugurated on 11th August 2017 by Er.Sivakumar Subbarayan, Associate Vice President – Manufacturing from BradkenIndia Pvt Ltd.
Mr.Johnson Pushpanathan, Mechanical Trainer, Kazhan BP Gas plant, Omandelivered a special lecture on “Opportunities for Mechanical Engineers in Oil andNatural Gas Industries”
The Mechanical Association MESA Organized a mega event “Intra College Quiz” onEngineers Day. MESA organized Guest lecture on the topic “Non Destructive Testing Methods and
Career Guidance” and was delivered by Mr.Velandi M, B.E., General Manager &Operations, BLUERAY Inspection Services, Coimbatore on 24th January, 2018.
Two days national level workshop was organized on the topic “Non Destructive TestingMethods” on 13th & 14th March by MESA.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Totally our students registered 1082 no activities during this year. The followingDepartment Students have Won in various Competitions conducted by other Colleges and havebrought Laurels to the Institution.
Where ever our students goes, they see that they grab some prizes and bring laurel to theinstitutions.Totally 78 of prizes were won by our students during this year.

RESULTSProud to say that SRIET is giving improvement year by year as for as the result isconcerned. During the last sem Nov / Dec 2017 examination declared by Anna University. Westand 12 place among 80 colleges in Coimbatore zone.
CO CURRICULAR & EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
We never fails to training our students in Extra activities also active NSS / YRC/ RedRibbon Club actively functioning in our college. YRC organised “EYE CAMP” for students and staffs by Lotus Eye Hospital on 13thSeptember 2017. Through NSS 250 herbs were planted in our SRIET Campus on 6th November 2017. NSS organized “Dengue Awareness programme” in our SRIET campus on

PLACEMENT AND TRAININGAll the Final Year students were well assessed by SRI Placement & Training Centre so as toanalyse their Strengths and Weaknesses. The SRIET Advanced Training Centre – is a Centre with amotive to train students beyond the curriculum and syllabus to equip oneself with the latestdevelopments.SRIET has organized many On-campus drives exclusive for our Students. Many CommonPool Drives are also arranged in our College where many students from other colleges have alsobeen benefitted. We send our students to more off campus programmes also.PLACEMENTS:A total of 75 students out of 144 students on roll have secured Placements through On/Offcampus drives arranged by the institution.
