WELCOME TO OWL AND THE PUSSYCAT HOTELThis charming boutique hotel, painted in deep pastels and vibrant bohemian hues, sitting
right at the waters edge, with mesmerizing views of the Indian Ocean.
Designed by New York architect Uday Dhar, who was inspired by the seafaring history of
Galle´s port, the hotels’ architectural concept recreates a long voyage on a wonderful
ocean liner. An eclectic decor blends Sri Lankan native vibes and barefoot seaside
atmosphere, with European sophistication and style. A clever, yet elegant ambience and
our warm welcoming hospitality make the stay at OTP unforgettable and exciting.

Owl and The Pussycat Hotel offers 17 uniquely designed suites, distributed in 4 different
and colourful buildings: the Blue, the Beige, the Pinkand the Yellow building. Rooms are ranged in 3
different floors: garden level, first floor and second floor, and divided into 7 categories:
ROOM CATEGORIESOTP Signature Two Bedroom Suite:1425 sq.ft. (132m2), kitchen, terraces with ocean views and garden-view room. It is the combination of the OTP Signature One-bedroom Suite and the (OTP One Double Bedroom). It is the most spacious room in the Hotel.
OTP Signature One-bedroom Suite:1055 sq. ft. (98m2), kitchen, terraces with ocean views, a few steps from the sea.
(OTP One Double Bedroom):370 sq.ft. (34m2), outside areas with a small wall-in pebbled patio.
Suite E Pie: 785 sq.ft. (73m2), kitchen, two ocean-view terraces.
Suite Dreams: 940 sq.ft. (87m2), kitchen, two ocean-view terraces.
Suite Melodies: 500 sq.ft. (46m2), spacious terrace overlooks the ocean.

Suite E PieOur Suite E Pie suites are located in the centre of the property, one on the garden level and one on the first floor. These
smartly appointed suites have a master bedroom with large en-suite bathroom. The suites also feature a private ocean-view terrace perfect for sipping breakfast tea. A beautiful l iving room has stylish modern furniture. There is a second balcony,
a smart, open-plan fully equipped kitchen with white concrete counters and an induction hob. The room offers fabulous

Suite Dreams The luxurious Suite Dreams are located on the first and second floors. These generous one-bedroom suites of 940 sq.ft.
(87m2) of space have a master bedroom with private balcony, large en-suite bathroom and separate living room.
They also feature a beautiful open-plan kitchen with white concrete counters and an induction hob. Art, books and plants
are the final touch of this special interior designed space. A large terrace with armchairs and hanging day beds command
magnificent views over the ocean. These suites present an eclectic decor with traditional four poster beds and traditional
style armoires. (Sleeps 2) These are suites 7 & 8 named after words of Edward Lear´s nonsensical poem.

focusing on local market produce and fresh fish from the Ocean.
Our Head Chef Anthony D´Costa was born and raised in India,
studied and trained in UK, and is a specialist in Sri Lankan food.
The restaurant offers a fantastic a-la-carte menu both at lunchtime
and in the evening, featuring International dishes
and Sri Lankan specialties.
The restaurant has the most romantic seafront location. You may dine in the AC room, or in the wrap around veranda or al fresco under the stars. We offer our guests an unforgettable dining experience
with innovative cooking using the freshest ingredients.
With a lively and chic atmosphere,with live jazz on weekends, the
restaurant is a cool nightlife alternative in an otherwise
very quiet town when the sun comes down.

no-fril ls seaside massages. Our guests
can relax with a fabulous hot oil
massage while listening to the sound of

give guests the prettiest hands and feet
in Sri Lanka while they sip one of
our detox infusions.

A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER…
Dear Guest,It is with great joy that we will welcome you to the Owl & Pussycat Hotel! We started work
on the beautiful site in Thalpe in 2015 and we feel very fortunate to have completed the
project within a year. We wanted to create a hotel that was not only beautiful but offered an informal luxury where people could come to relax and be themselves. We have created
a space that is natural, easy and gentle. We wanted the indoors and the outdoors including
the garden to be part of one unified space….where one could sip tea in front of the wild
and wonderful, roaring Indian ocean; a thril l of which one never gets tired.
This place is designed to make you feel good with wholesome, delicious, fresh food full of colours, spices and textures. The sort of food where you don’t hold back but indulge! Seaside yoga and relaxation encourages a positive spirit at sunrise and sunset. And then in
the evening wonderful drinks at the bar allows guests to mingle in a convivial atmosphere. Our many services can be personalised so please let us know if you or your guests need
anything special. And if we can, we will get it done.
I have been asked several times about the name of the hotel, and it happened one day by
chance. We had been considering many different names, which all sounded very fancy and
pretentious. Then one day my daughter sent me an image from NYC of her little black cat
Zizou sitting inside her computer bag waiting to go with her to work. I realised then that life is quirky, and lives outside the rules that we create. The cat reminded me of my favourite childhood nonsensical poem, “The Owl & the Pussycat” by Edward Lear.
The poem spoke to me about an age of innocence, of less sophistication and more fun. So there we had it, the “Owl and the Pussycat Hotel and Restaurant”. We would like our
guests to come here and share some of this magic! It would be our great pleasure to look
after you.
