Sr. Manufacturing Engineer Job Reference: Manufacturing Location: Carlsbad, CA Posted: May 2018 Weekly Hours: 40 The Role At DNA Electronics Ltd, we are integrating cutting-edge semiconductor technologies with novel biochemical techniques to develop products for DNA analysis and molecular diagnostics. You will be working in the Manufacturing Department of a multi-discipline company. The qualified candidate will support the engineering effort to develop manufacturing processes for new and existing products while aggressively looking to implement applications or modifications to existing technologies and products to meet or exceed manufacturing and revenue cost goals. Responsibilities Implement processes and mechanical improvements to production equipment and procedures. Support the assembly and installation of mechanical and electrical components, the testing and validation of new stations and manufacturing systems, and the ordering of components and production equipment. Establish procedures and train employees on the operation of new equipment. Set up and maintain a computerized system that both prompts production line and service troubleshooting and creates a database of found problems to assist in analyzing root cause of failure. Provides specification, procurement, installation, start-up, and commissioning activities for manufacturing equipment, facilities areas, and process utilities systems. Manages projects including development of project scope and estimates, initiation of requests for capital when required, specification of equipment and installation requirements, management of costs to budget, and support ofIQ/OQ and final documentation in accordance with acceptable engineering practices. Other duties as assigned Qualifications & Experience Required A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical or Electric) or Science (Biology) and a minimum of 5 - 7 years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role in an ISO registered or other regulated development and manufacturing environment. Specific experience in medical devices or pharmaceutical manufacturing strongly preferred. Proficient with MS Office Suite of products and proficient with SolidWorks
