Pickle Pie’s Hoop Envy Club

Hoop Envy Club is ‘in-the-hoop’ projects created by Pickle Pie Designs. Each month features a new contem-porary, sophisticated design, that appeals to sewists of all ages. Each month’s EXCLUSIVE Design CD features an irresistible project in three hoop sizes so all embroidery machine owners can join in on the fun. You should be able to go home with a completed project.

Join us in Sewing “Little Angel Gowns”

Come help us transform donated wedding gowns into “Little Angel Gowns”. Not for brides, but for the little babies who never get the chance to come home with their families. These are donated to both hospitals and funeral homes around the country so parents have something both special enough and small enough to lay their precious bundle to rest in. We can’t take away the pain of losing a child but we hope the angel gowns help parents with the grieving process and provide them a small sense of comfort.

Help is needed cutting out, sewing, serging and embellishing the gowns. You will be able to choose a part you feel most comfortable doing. Bring a finger food to share for lunch.

Welcome the newest addition to the Studio 180 Design Modern quilt line! This quilt can be made using a monochromatic color pattern or utilizing a variety of scraps. Gather up your fat quarters and join in the fun of making flying geese appear as anything but geese!

Diamonds in the Sky

"Diamonds in the Sky" is a brilliant high contrast quilt using Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Rulers. You could use assorted fat quarters, 6" strips or simply scraps of bright fabric to make this a dynamite stash-buster project. Gather your friends, share your scraps, choose a different background (think out-side the box and choose a background that is different and unique... how about newsprint fabric) and make a quilt filled with fun and memories.

Galaxy

Come and join in the fun of making this quilt that presents the optical illusion of curved seams and circles. This quilt consists of two quick to assemble blocks and only straight seams. One of the most popular Studio 180 design patterns is also one of the easiest to make once you learn all of the tricks!

Shelley’s Bag

“Shelley’s Bag” is so attractive and functional you will be surprised at how easy it is to construct. On the outside, there are two handy patch pockets (one on each side) that are large enough to carry almost anything you’d like to keep close at hand - even a water bottle. You’ll like the look of the cute little ties that gracefully cinch in the sides. Pull them tight to make the handbag snug or loosen them to carry almost anything you can imag-ine. Such versatility! Dimensions: 12.5” wide x 10.5” tall x 4.5” deep.

Smooth Sailing (Storm at Sea)

This stunning Deb Tucker design is a take on the traditional Storm at Sea quilt and was created using Studio 180 Design’s Diamond Rects & Square Squared tools. This pattern is a great way to introduce yourself to the illusion of curves.

During the first class you will learn to use Deb's tools to create each of the shapes in the pattern. When the second class meets, we will put together the finished pieces discussing the correct placement of the blocks and ironing techniques to help eliminate bulky seams. We will also discuss borders...how to measure and stitch to insure that your quilt is squared up before the quilting process begins.

Binding Frenzy

It's a Binding Frenzy! We are going to get excited about getting those quilts bound. Bring your quilts to Stitch-N-Time and enjoy a day of binding with fellow quilters. Carol will be here to share some of her binding 'tricks' and answer any questions you may have.

We will start at 9:30 and continue until closing time at 3:00. Come for part of the time or all of the time or just drop in! What a fun way to get some of those quilts finished!

Feel free to bring your lunch or snacks and settle in for a day of binding.

Clothesline Fabric Basket

A sewing machine, a cording foot, some strips of fabric from your stash or scraps from past projects, thread, and clothesline— that’s all you need to convert ordinary clothes-line into a decorative basket.

Continuous Embroidery in the Hoop

Learn how to rehoop your fabric and create continuous embroidery. Whether you are transforming your favorite embroidery design into a continuous border on a towel or table linen, or quilting a quilt with an outline quilt design, the techniques are the same. It’s not as hard as it may sound. Becky will demonstrate how it is done and try to answer any questions you may have.

Summer Sew Fun

Children LOVE to sew!!! Bring children ages 7 and up, for a fun morning of learning. They will learn the basics of operating a sewing machine, cutting out a pattern, and more. Each child will complete a project just in time to take along home!

Lemoyne Star

Come and join in this Studio 180 Design technique class and learn shortcuts to making lemoyne stars with no “Y” seams. Using this technique you will create perfect points with accurate 1/4 inch seam allowance for use in your projects resulting in stunningly sharp stars.

Smith Mountain Morning

Would you like to take a complicated pattern that uses templates and simplify it? This pattern has been “Tuckered” to use Studio 180 tools, and strip piecing to turn an otherwise complex pattern into an easy-to-construct quilt top. This quilt consists of 2 blocks that you will learn to construct in class and be prepared to easily make the remaining blocks repeating this simple process.

The Square Root of Stripes

Who says you can’t use striped fabric in a quilt? This quilt uses only one striped fab-ric, plus a border. You can easily con-struct it in a day, as the “trick” is in the cutting and organization of the fabric.
