Gracefully WovenBaskets Will Add

Charm to Your Home

Grace Hovenourbegan weaving baskets byaccident 24 years ago whena basket weaving class wasoffered at her workplace. She hadn't planned to attend

but over half of the people were sick that day and sheattended so the instructor wouldn't be disappointed. That basket led to others and the rest is history.

She custom dyes her reed to create just theright colors and mixes her own stains to put a specialfinish on each basket. No two are alike because eachis woven without a form. Creating heirloom piecesgives her joy.

Constantly on the hunt for new ideas thatcan come from a customer's suggestion or browsing ashop and discovering a shape that inspires a newbasket. That is how she got the idea for her trade-

mark pottery baskets. This led her to a local potterthat could custom throw her pieces so she can weavethe basket directly into pottery. She also stumbled onthe adorable plates she uses, turning them into lidsand creating baskets to fit each one. Building B,Booth 1 is the place to meet with Grace and let herassist you in selecting your very own heirloom!

Old World Jewelry with New World Accents

“…everything nice” isLovely to Look At, Lovely

to Own“…and everything nice” is aptlynamed by artist, Jennifer Kamm,Findlay, Ohio. You will understand the name when you

visit her Outside, Space F where you will see herbeautiful mosaic like designs on frames, mirrors, trays, jewelry and other items. Jennifer grew up witha mother and grandmother who were always creatingand selling their creations. She has spent the past 30or more years also crafting and creating. Her husbandcalls her a piddler. She says she doesn't consider herself an artist, just someone who enjoys creatingand bringing joy to others with those creations.

Her inspiration comes from nature, the glassitself and other geometric designs. The work she creates with glass deviates from true mosaic in thatshe doesn't always use small pieces to create a picture. She enjoys using art glass in larger pieces with oldjewelry, wire, beads, and other materials used toembellish the piece. The glass is glued onto a surfaceand then grouted and sealed for a truly unique piece ofart.

What a winter we had! Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a beach girl at heart andlove summer! I can honestly say, I am ready for it! Much of the winter was spent withDean and being inside. Got a couple of long weekends of fun in there, but for the mostpart, helping Dean get better was my job.

Dean's road to recovery is moving forward. At last report his cancer had not gotten worse. We just now start the healing process from all the chemo and radiation to his lung. The education we have gotten on this journey is some I hope I never need again. A recent tripto the Cleveland Clinic was met with highs and lows. The high being, Dean has doneincredibly well through all of this. The low, he now has to heal and he remains very strong and we will get throughthis.

The grandbabies (they will always be my babies) are now 10, 3, 2, and 1. I am fortunate to have two that are closeby and two within driving distance when time permits.

Evan, the oldest, is now busy with sports and finishing the 4th grade. He is keeping Heather very busyand between her full time job, his schedule and what time she puts in here, there is verylittle Heather time! I am thankful for all she does here, and I know she appreciates somedown time with a friend. (aka, Bill!)

Danielle's little ones, Mackenzie and Maddison are now 3 and 2. With a birth-day just celebrated, there were Princess' everywhere. These two just have to

smile to make a bad day good! I am so thankful they are just a short drive south. Cliff andDanielle are both in the corporate world and enjoying the suburbs ofColumbus.

Dustin's little one, Austin, is now 1. Dustin and Amber recently becameengaged, so they will be planning a wedding in the near future.

Ken is now busy working in Dayton, OH. He is working for Booz Allen Hamilton, a Strategy andTechnology consulting firm. He keeps busy officiating high school football and basketball. Hemakes it home when he can, but there is not much time for longer visits. Although we talk frequently,I do miss seeing him and Maddi.

Now for my beautiful mother, Elaine, she has finally gotten settled into her new place and gets toenjoy time with my two sisters and their families. I visit when I can and she still comes to help withthe shows. With Springtime in Ohio being the weekend before Mother's Day, I will get to spendMother's Day with my mother this year! I am very thankful for all she has done, does, and will do. Iam forever appreciative of her! She has been my sounding board through this rough patch we have had

recently. Thank you Elaine!

And finally, the reason this paper continues, is the unending devotion of my late father, Dan. When I sometimeslook at this entire production and ask myself why, his voice is ALWAYS there reminding me! Even though he isgone, I still find myself asking him questions as if to get answers. Thank you D.B., you always know how to keepme motivated and remind me why.

You, the crafters and customers, share the reason that I continue. This little hiccup that life has thrown us hasshowed me the magnitude of your caring and understanding, and I truly can not thank you all enough. I will contin-ue to produce the best shows possible, both here in Ohio and those in Indiana. If you have not attended a show inIndiana, I invite you to come on over and see what amazing talent is there. Or if you haven't been to an Ohio show, come on out as we would love to see you.

A Very Vine Creation MakesVery Fine Creations!

A Very Vine Creation was a “recycling business” from its inception three short years ago.Through trial and error, Crafter ShariHess of Goshen, Ohio has perfected theart of turning a bottle into a beautifulserving tray.

Shari spends 7-9 hours in theprocess to heat these masterpieces toover 1500 degrees. Never knowing

how each bottle will react, she takes pride when theyare through that process and she can begin the designphase, finishing off the trays with colorful accents.

Artfully decorated and ready for home enter-taining or gift giving, each piece is created to beinguseful in addition to decorative.

Be sure to look through her selection oflighted wine bottles to choose one that reflects yourdécor. Shari will be waiting to answer your questionsin Building E, Booth 10.
