Hi! My name is Daniel Schoerner, Sr. Principal Product Strategy Manager for Oracle Transportation and Global Trade Management Cloud.

I’m excited to announce new features in Update 20B, which continues our long history of investment in the creation of best-in-class transportation and global trade management applications.

Today, I’ll highlight three key areas: Ocean Enhancements, Improved Decision Support, and Global Trade Management.

This update includes new enhancements in the area of international and ocean shipments.

Often, ocean transportation orders are for large quantities requiring multiple equipment, which companies want to manage on a single shipment.

UPDATE 20B

Spotlight on

In 20B, OTM can determine the volume of equipment needed during the planning process. Users can now invoke container optimization directly from the order to determine the ideal mix of equipment for a multi-equipment shipment.

New in this release is support for pre-order booking requests, which provides the ability to secure capacity for a shipment before the orders appear in OTM.

Users will be able to capture the request for an ocean booking, including dates, voyage, vessel, port of load, port of discharge, and more. Once capacity is booked and confirmation is received from the service provider, the user will subsequently be able to plan orders into shipments, and draw off the previously booked capacity by assigning shipments to it.

20B also includes enhancements to aid users in Improved Decision Support.

The new 3D load configuration editing tool allows users to repack existing shipments in Oracle Transportation Management.

The tool enables users to manually adjust the 3D-optimized solution to accommodate late changes, as well as to incorporate local knowledge and experience as part of finalizing the shipment.

The user can unpack the shipment by moving the yellow slider under the ship units to reposition. These ship units are moved to the staging area. The user then manually replaces the units by dragging them to the desired location and position. The user can visually see the changes as edits are being made. The system dynamically recalculates the center of gravity for the shipment as the ship units change. The Show Center of Gravity button lets the user visually see the coordinates from all views of the equipment.

In Oracle Global Trade Management, we continue to make improvements that assist companies in focusing on critical trade information.

In 20B we’ve added a New Item Qualification Manager that enables users to create workbenches and agents to monitor trade agreement qualification.

We continue to make enhancements to improve the user experience in GTM. We’ve added more flex fields in transactions, declarations, items parties, and registrations. GTM can also send multiple documents within one email from the Trade Transaction and Declaration.

With the current volatility in trade data, we’ve also improved managing regulatory content from providers. New features in 20B monitor updates to trade content upload status and raise failure events for issues. We have also added SmartLinks that enable users to view the details of the content set.

I hope you enjoyed learning about the new features in this update. There are many more enhancements and new capabilities in OTM and GTM in 20B.
