DESCRIPTION
A quick reference guide for your time at SportAccord Convention 2014 in Belek/Antalya, Turkey.
Citation preview
With stakeholders consisting of ASOIF, AIOWF, ARISF, AIMS and SportAccord, the 6-day event comprises the annual meetings of 108 International Olympic and non-Olympic Sports Federations and Organisations. Since 2003, when the event first took place in Madrid, the Convention has been held in Lausanne, Berlin, Seoul, Beijing, Athens, Denver, Dubai, London, Québec City, Saint Petersburg and this year in Belek/Antalya, Turkey. Currently there are several cities bidding to host SportAccord Convention 2015, with the Host City to be announced shortly.
With over 2500 delegates from all over the world, SportAccord Convention is the key industry event for members of the international sporting community wanting to liaise with colleagues, exchange ideas and knowledge, and meet potential new partners from all areas of the sports world.
• Developing Nations attend the event to speak with sporting leaders to discuss the development of sporting programmes in their country.
• Developed Nations meet International Federations to offer hosting solutions for their events.
• Businesses and service providers to world sport use the event to access International Federations and Organising Committees to discuss and agree current and potential working partnerships.
The conference element of the SportAccord Convention offers all delegates the opportunity to listen to leading business figures and renowned athletes from the upper echelon of world sport. Through inspirational talks and presentations, these high profile individuals share their experiences and insight on global themes shaping the future of world sport.
All participants are invited by the host city to enjoy and explore its culture via an extensive, high quality social and cultural programme consisting of multiple events and activities across the entire week.
SportAccord Convention is the world’s top tier annual event at the service of sport, focused on driving positive change within the world sports movement, and dedicated to engaging rights holders, organising committees, cities, businesses and other organisations in the development of sport.
SportAccord Convention in its 12th year continues as the premier sports gathering involving all of the International Sports Federation rights holders. Our mission is to nurture and develop the collaborative spirit within the World Sports Family, and to make SportAccord Convention synonymous with connecting people from around the globe and throughout the entire spectrum of sport. We take pride in listening, and aim to be a catalyst for collaboration and communication between people, business, sporting bodies and governments.
ABOUTSPORTACCORD CONVENTION
SportAccord Convention has become one of the key fixtures on the international sporting calendar. But the
event itself has now evolved into a SportAccord Community… a diverse group of people from across the sports
spectrum, and from all over the world, who value this unique opportunity to learn, to grow, and most of all to
share – not only their varied experiences, but the cumulative wealth of knowledge everyone brings with them
to our annual gatherings.
SportAccord Convention continues to develop additional offerings – such as SportAccord Convention TV, the
Mobile Event App, SportAccord Convention – The Annual, City Forum, The Daily event publication and the
IF Forum, held in November – intended to be invaluable resources for everyone within the sports movement.
