Citation preview
Using the correct lubrication before each swage operation is essential for mechanical splicing. Due to lubrication, the material in the swaging process flows much easier and helps form a tighter fit around the wire rope. See picture opposite:Sample 1; Dies have not been properly greased.Sample 2; Both upper and lower die have been coated with SPLICING GREASE. Our testing has shown a reduction of up to 20% less load when lubricants are used, leading to an enhanced die service life. It also helps avoid the splice sticking in dies after swaging, saving valuable time.
