A minimum pass with a C Grade (2.00) in any TWO (2) of the following subjects:- • Mathematics T • Advanced Mathematics T • Physics • Chemistry. A pass in Mathematics with a credit at the SPM/equivalent level.

Diploma (i) University Basic Requirements

A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia or equivalent with a credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia. Diploma or an equivalent as recognized by the Malaysian Government and approved by the UTM Senate; and Sat for the Malaysia University English Test (MUET).

(ii) Special Requirements of the Programme

Mechanical Engineering Diploma or an equivalent diploma holders from UTM or any recognized institution with a minimum CGPA 2.50 or other diploma recognized by Malaysian Government which is related to the program and approved by the UTM Senate. Candidates with a minimum CGPA 2.50; or candidates with CGPA less than 2.50 but more than 2.30 with two years of relevant working experience may apply. Passed with a credits in Mathematics at the SPM or equivalent or a minimum of C Grade in one of the Mathematics subjects taken at diploma levels. Candidates are required to submit complete diploma transcripts (from first to final semesters) to UTM. Candidates are also required to submit a copy of diploma certificate or confirmation letter of study completion. For all application, priority will be given to candidates who pass with a credit in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/ Electronic Engineering and Civil Engineering Studies at the SPM level. Passed an interview and MEdSI test.

13. Program Objectives

1. To enable graduates to apply their disciplinary knowledge and skills in the field of Mechanical Engineering and education in the planning, implementation and management of educational-related activities.

2. To produce graduates who able to apply ICT in the planning, implementation and management of educational-related activities.

3. To produce graduates who are able to communicate effectively and efficiently across a wide range of contexts.

4. To produce graduates who are able to respond and adapt readily to changing situations and to continue learning independently in the acquisition of new knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering and technical education field.

5. To produce holistic graduates capable of developing themselves and able to facilitate Physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual development of their prospective students.

17. Programme structures and features, curriculum and award requirements The course is offered in full-time mode and based on a 2 Semester academic year with several subjects being delivered and assessed in each semester. Assessment : 50% examination, 50% coursework Note: Some laboratory subjects 100% course work Award requirements: Students should: • achieve a total of 124 credit hours with a minimum CPA of 2.0. • pass industrial training (equivalent to 3 credit hours). • pass teaching practice (equivalent to 8 credit hours). • complete the undergraduate project at year four. 19. Career Prospects Graduates of the programme can work as teachers in government or private technical and secondary schools or as lecturers in higher learning institution.

20. Cross Campus Students are given the opportunity a chance to enroll few courses in participating universities and the grades and credits up to 1/3 of the total credits of the curriculum are transferable. At the moment, there are four participating universities. i.e. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Malaya, and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.
