Iconography Workshop June 23–28, 2014 Spirit of Life Church Workshop Cost: $395 All supplies will be provided The workshop experience spans six days in a reflective atmosphere of studio time and instruction. Each participant will create the icon of newly declared Saint John Paul II during the workshop. Instructor Nicholas Markell teaches Byzantine iconography using the ancient method of egg-tempered painting and 24 Kt. Gold leafing. This approach explores the technique as well as spiritual symbolism of the icon writing process. For more information call: 1-701-663-1660
On June 26, 2014 Nicholas Markell will present” Feast Day Icons “ The talk will be given at 7:00 pm at Spirit of Life Church.
Pray the Rosary Please join us in praying the rosary at 10:30 am on Sundays, between the 9 and 11 am Masses. Let us pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life, and for an end to abortion.
CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS COURT ST. CECELIA Please join us for our last meeting before summer. On Mon-day, May 12th at 6:30 pm, at St. Joe's Church, we will have a Ceremony of Reception of New Members. (Please enter through school). This will be followed by a light meal in the cafeteria celebrating our new members AND our 95 years as Court St. Cecelia. We will also have awards for years of ser-vice, and the election of officers.
Spirit of Life Apparel The teens will be selling Spirit of Life apparel after all Masses the weekend of May 17 & 18. The T’-shirts are $15 and the Hoodies are $30. This fundraiser is for the four teens from the parish that are attending Stubenville in July.
Business of the Month
Because of your generosity, 298 adults and 246 children were fed through the Spirit of Life Food Pantry in April. 19 people were assisted in other areas. TIME: Adoration, saying the Rosary, praying for others in need, help with funerals, assisting homebound, funeral lunches, hospital or nursing home visits, soup kitchen TALENT: Parish committees, office help, music SERVICE: Altar Server, Eucharistic Minister, Hospitality, Ushers, Music, Educational Ministries TOTAL MEALS SERVED AT SOUP KITCHEN IN APRIL: 396 TOTAL NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS IN APRIL: 478 TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS CONTRIBUTED IN APRIL: 1522.75 STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT: God has taught us that you cannot love without giving. That includes the giving of our time, tal-ent and treasure.

Blue Mass The Diocese of Bismarck would like to extend an invitation to attend the third annual “Blue Mass” being held on May 13, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit with Bishop David D. Kagan as the main celebrant. The name “Blue Mass” originated from the color of the uni-forms worn by law enforcement personnel and other emer-gency responders across the country. The “Blue Mass” is an opportunity to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in service for truth and justice. We remember and pray for all active, retired, and deceased law enforcement offi-cers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel that have served in these invaluable disciplines. Please come and join us as we offer a Mass to honor those that have fallen in the line of duty protecting our communi-ties and those men and women that continue to serve today.

The Called & Gifted Workshop Coming soon to our parish is an opportunity for each of us to deepen our relationship with Jesus and to discover God’s plan for our lives. In the Called & Gifted discernment process you will learn that every lay Christian– each baptized person with-out exception– has been given a unique and deeply personal call to work with our Lord. Discerning your call will give you a new perspective on your life and will help you to be more ful-filled in your work and your relationships. Our parish is spon-soring a teaching team from the Catherine of Siena Institute in Colorado Springs to offer the introductory Called & Gifted workshop. Everyone is invited to participate. Perpetual Adoration Adoration occurs every day, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Everyone is welcome to stop in any time the church is open from 8 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, and Sunday morn-ings from 8 am – noon. We can still use a second adorer on several hours. Anyone interested in signing up for an hour a week should call the office at 663-1660.
Sacraments Reconciliation: Saturday 8:40-8:55 am & 3:30-4:30 pm Sunday: 8:00-8:30 am Tuesday thru Friday: 6:40-6:55 am & 8:40 am-8:55 am or you may call for an appointment.
