Technology meets Fashion

Yes, you definitely read “Fashion”! This is not our preferred subject but things are changing! To tell the truth, it is Fashion itself that is changing. A major turning point is emerging and the new technologies are being studied closely. New materials, 3D printing, Augmented Reality, Big Data... the entire value chain is potentially subject to change but it is not yet clear how.

For its first mission in this sector of activity, the cluster will organise the Trends meetings. These meetings allow the style teams from the Fashion and Decoration industries to tackle the season with as many keys as possible and to develop their collections as close to demand as possible.

In September, there will be two trade fairs dedicated to Fashion in which TECHTERA is participating: • AVANTEX, Fashion and High Technology Show, where we will present a selection of

innovative materials that could interest the Fashion sector.

• PREMIERE VISION, the leading show for sourcing materials for ready-to-wear brands. With

the support of UNITEX, we are partnering with STARTEX (UIT Sud) to represent the Fashion-

Clothing textile industry.

Great European News about Finance for Innovation

Europe is entering the final phase of the Horizon 2020 funding programme for research, development and innovation. In October 2017, details of the calls for projects around the key themes of “Scientific Excellence” and “Industrial Primacy” will be published. The textile industry has a big role to play! The TECHTERA cluster will be there to support you.

DFD – DENSE FLUID DEGREASING

Created in July 2012, DFD (Dense Fluid Degreasing) is a Rhône-Alpes company that designs, manufactures and markets innovative processes for supercritical CO2 cleaning, degreasing or particle removal.

The “Munich Fabric Start” trade fair: September 5 - 7 (9:30 to 18:30) - Munich (Germany)

The cluster will be present with 12 enterprises at “Munich Fabric Start”. This is a twice-yearly show for fashion and clothing textiles.

TECHTERA is once again hosting a stand at AVANTEX to represent and promote the textile skills of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

Innovation Workshop - Factory of the Future: October 5 (8:30 - 18:30) - ITA, AACHEN (Germany)

Together with the Institut für Textilteschniken Aachen (research centre with the most patents in the European textile sector), TECHTERA is organising a European conference on the theme of the Factory of the Future.

Jacques Cartier Conferences: October 16 - 18 – MONTREAL-QUEBEC-SHERBROOKE (Canada)

For the thirtieth edition of the Jacques Cartier Conferences, TECHTERA and its partners invite you to join a mission to Canada for three days of conferences and meetings.

On the theme: “From Fundamental Research to Mass Production”, TECHTERA will be taking part in a cycle of conferences: “A scale-up strategy for yarn”.
