Chapter Activities
1. Promote optics in our university
On 11/17/2017, all members promoted optics in the campus, and
many students came to learn about SPIE and optics by leaflets , display
panels and presentation

2. Visit an optical lab
On 11/19/2017, we invited 20 college students to visit an optical lab.
There were many advanced optical instruments and equipment in
the lab, which were truly eye-opening for these students.
3. Attend a chapter symposium
On 11/26/2017, the president and the former president of our
chapter attended the symposium held by CNU in Beijing. And the
president Wenyong gave a report. They also communicated with
other chapter members about the future activities.
4. Hold a Christmas & Happy New Year
party
On 12/25/2017, we held a Christmas & Happy New Year party with
OSA@NBU in our lab. All studens, teachers and chapter members
attended this party. Everyone had a great time.
5. Hold a chapter spring symposium on
optics
On 03/29-31/2018, we held a chapter spring symposium on optics
with OSA@NBU. Other chapters attended and gave reports on their
work. This activity promoted the optics, as well as connection and
communication between chapters in China.
6. Organize an outdoor activity
On 04/22/2018, we organized an outdoor activity in Dongqian Lake.
All members participated. We barbecued, climbed the mountain, and
played games.

7. Attend a Conference on optics
On 04/24/2018, the National optoelectronics conference had
been held in our lab. All members participated in the report.
8. Promote optics to students in Kongpu
Middle School
On 05/09/2018, we promoted optics to students in Kongpu Middle
School. We showed them some optical experiments.
Further Chapter Activities
1、Recruit new members
2、 Invite or visit other SPIE student chapters in China to
promote academic communication and strengthen ties
between each other.
3、Hold a Christmas and New Year’s party
4、Organize the members to participate in an expo on
optical materials
5、Introduce the optical knowledge to the college students
and invite them to visit an optical lab
6、Share optical knowledge with middle school students
7、Organize some outdoor activities to enhance the
relationship between our members
