Tackable SurfacesSound Acoustic Solutions offers acoustic boards specifically designed for tackable surfaces or for high impact areas. Higher in density, these boards are able to handle more abuse than standard fiberglass boards.

Three types of boards are available, Tack board, Dual Density Board or Micore Mineral Fiber Board.

SilentFiber™ Tack BoardA number of options are available for high density tack boards. Our 16# 1/8” thick tackboard is the perfect choice for the interior contractor looking to add a layer of fiberglass to provide a tackable surface, or impact resistance and keeping strong acoustical properties. Offered with a white mat face, our standard Silent Fiber 1/8” tackboard is offered in 16# density at 49”x121” and 49” x 97” dimension.

SilentFiber™ Dual Density BoardSilentFiber™ Dual Density Fiberglass Boards are medium impact resistant and designed for high traffic areas where the durability of acoustical treatments is of high importance. Stocked tackable fiberglass boards come with a 6# fiberglass core layered with a 16# fiberglass board face. Tackable boards may be custom ordered with varying densities as well. Black tackboard face is also available.

USG Micore® Mineral Fiber BoardMicore® Mineral Fiber Board is a superior substrate for fabric and vinyl-covered wall-panels, office dividers and tackboards. Micore® is nearly 50% lighter than particle board, allowing for easier handling and lower freight rates. The inorganic mineral fibers resist moisture, minimizing expansion and warpage which are consistent issues with particle boards. Micore® Mineral Fiber Board is easily cut to size and shape specifications using standard equipment while adapting readily to last minute design charges.
