JR is planning a nice mid-day luncheon, fancier than usual, to

be held between the end of Regionals and beginning of

specialty. The rescue parade can be earlier this year, probably

around 11 since obedience and rally will be scheduled for the

afternoon.

We need to think about selecting judges for 2015. It seems like a long way off, but the Board of Directors will be looking for your suggestions sometime soon.

Susan had an opporrtunity to visit Ft. Carson and was given a tour of the hunting grounds by their resident wildlife bioloigist, Roger. The grounds are being used for hunting and in fact, the local Foxhound club does non-kill hunting on horseback on their grounds – not the grounds we’re proposing, but on other Ft. Carson grounds. Per Roger, rabbits are trapped where they don’t want them, and released into the areas shown in these photographs. The wildlife cabin apparently is where the sorting out takes place. Maybe we could use it for our draw (??) Just thinking ahead. Ft. Carson open to clubs using their property for field events. To get to the recommended rabbit area, exit I25 at South Academy Blvd. and go about 8 miles to Gate 7. Knowing this, we’ve tentatively scheduled a weather dependent hunt test for January 19. Details still need to be worked out but knowing the background we’d like to give this a try. Stay tuned.
