Specials The preschoolers visited Scout, the zoo’s Red Panda that will be turning 3 years old in June! Scout loves bananas and bamboo. He can, also, jump 5 feet high! Scout showed off his trick with the help of Ms. Stephanie. Ms. Stephanie used a clicker to prompt Scout to turn and jump. Scout makes lots of different noises like huffing, cat sounds and even a bark sound when he gets startled. For Arcc celebraon, Ms. Laurie, showed the children the hoof of a Scandinavian reindeer! Everyone got to first touch the hoof and then guess what animal they thought it was. It was amazing to not only touch the fur but the bone of the hoof, too! Ms. Sarah brought in a 3-year-old ferret named, Sherlock to our Friendship Day party! He dressed up for the occasion wearing his Valenne vest. Not only did the children get to touch Sherlock, so did their special guest. Ms. Charlene a dental hygienist came for a visit. She played a fun game of “healthy” snack” and “somemes snack” and the children had to idenfy what snack belong in each group. Ms. Charlene also brought along a special friend named Clarence. He was a dinosaur puppet that the children got to brush his teeth! Ms. Charlene told us to always remember to brush our teeth for 2 minutes twice a day! Shout Outs

Thank you to our Mystery Readers, Suzanne (Sam’s grandma), Dan (Corinne’s

grandpa), and Katie (Corinne’s mom)!

This month the kids helped Ms. Anna make waffles. The waffles were so yummy that you didn’t even need syrup! They, also, made frozen treats. The kids then got to guess what flavor they though the frozen treats tasted like.

Socials: StaffAppreciation Day!The preschoolers helped honor the Zoo staff and animal keepers by handing out yummy chocolate and cookie treats with personalized “thank you” cards. They then showed off their penguin outfits by giving the staff a parade!

The Preschool program participated in “Take Your Child to the Library” event at Crane and North Park libraries. Ms. Anna, with the help of Ms. Peggy, brought lots of seashells for the kids to paint and newspapers to make arctic animals like polar bears.

Happy Birthday to Ms. Anna, Sam, and Lincoln!

Ms. Lindsay our Art Teacher helped make pinch pots for Friendship Day with the kids. Ms. Anna continued to have the kids paint their pot, chose their favorite flowers, and glued them to the pot. We used them as a centerpiece décor for Friendship Day!

For our class party, we welcomed our special guest with a beautiful friendship necklace. We gave our special guest a classroom tour. They showed off their creative art work in the hallway, the snow collage on family tree, and other friendly activities. The kids treated everyone to a special performance of Penguin Dance!

Friendship Day!The kids together with their book buddy, paired up and completed a special journal about their favorite things such as color and snacks. It was a great way to know each other better! The buddies made special cards for the preschoolers and we also gave them some yummy treats!

Friendship Day Thank YouThank you Sandy for decorating the classroom; Thank you Brian, Katie, Caitlin, and Sara for helping out with Staff Appreciation Day; Thanks to all families who contributed “Thank you” letters for all Zoo staff; Thank you Pam for being our room parent!
