5 TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SMART AND SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES July 1-4, 2020 / Bol (Brač) / Split, Croatia Special Session on Advances in RFID technologies for IoT Applications Organizer: Technically co-sponsored by: The continuous advances in modern wireless technologies are pushing our society towards a new paradigm which includes Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Everything (IoE), which is having a strong impact and will radically change our everyday lives. IoT technologies will exploit the wide variety of modern available cheap sensors (both wearable, implantable, and environmental), which allow every surrounding object to become smart and interconnected, providing an emerging integrated wireless platform, where physical and virtual things can be uniquely identied on a global scale and are connected with a global network. RF identication (RFID) technology is one of the best choices to provide part of the IoT physical layer in smart environments through wireless low-cost, energy-autonomous, and disposable sensors, which can be displaced around the cities environment, inside the houses, on clothes and personal items, and generally above every object, making the whole world always connected. Authors are invited to submit recent advances in antennas for RFID applications, including new congurations of tag antennas and reader antennas (both linear, dual and circular polarization), particularly suitable for IoT systems (such as platform tolerant RFID Tags, wearable, epidermal, or implantable tags, and so on). The continuous advances in modern wireless technologies are pushing our society towards a new paradigm which includes Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Everything (IoE), which is having a strong impact and will radically change our everyday lives.
