Jesus decided that He wanted to go out to the boat where His disciples were. So He just walked out there on top of the water. WOW! When His disciples saw something walking on top of the water they thought it was a ghost. Then Peter realized that it was Jesus. Jesus told Peter to come on out and join Him. So without thinking Peter just jumped off the boat and walked on the water towards Jesus. But all of a sudden as Peter was almost to Jesus he thought about the wind. And his mind started thinking something like ..... "You are not suppose to be walking on top of the water, it is not possible." That is why Peter started sinking in to the water. Jesus reached His hand out towards Peter to pull him back on top of the water and said. "Oh Peter, you of little faith." This story is in Mark 6:45-52; John 6:17-21; and Matthew 14:22-35. Only the story in Matthew tells about Peter walking on the water too.

Sometimes I feel like Peter. I think I can do something great for Jesus, and when I am inthe middle of doing it my mind starts thinking..."Who do you think you are, you can not dothis." Then I start sinking. Positive thoughts are very important for our mind to keep ourfaith going strong. It is important that we keep our eyes on Jesus. Remember the words

of Paul in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things with Christ who strengthens me." And do notlet the devil tell you anything less.

PRAYER:

Almighty andeverlasting God,

Thank you for the Bible stories and especially thestories about Jesus. I love to hear these awesomestories about how Jesus walked on water, quieted thesea with just His words, healed the sick, and told usabout Your Kingdom. Help me to have faith to be theking of person You call me to be, and to never take myeyes of Jesus. In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.

Day 26 ~ Z ~JESUS THEMESSIAH

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Malachi 3:1-6 Acts 2:35-37Matthew 16:13-20 Psalm 110:1

Today is the twenty-sixth day of the Lent season. The Messiah - Who is it?

The Hebrew word "The Messiah" when translated into English becomes "theanointed One" and is often used interchangeably in English Bibles with the name"Christ." For centuries, the Jewish people have anticipated the coming of theMessiah, the "One who would restore the fortunes of Israel, liberating the nationfrom foreign oppression and extending His rule over Gentile nations."1

In today's lesson Jesus asked His discipleswho they thought He was. Peter answeredJesus saying “You are the Messiah, theSon of the living God.” Then Jesus saidonly the Father could have revealed thatto him, and that Jesus would build hischurch on Peter as the rock.

Day 27 ~ JESUSTELLS HIS DISCIPLES THAT HE IS

GOING TO DIETODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Hosea 6:2Acts 2:23-24Matthew 16:21-26 Psalm 73:24

Today is the twenty-seventh day of the Lent season. We read in the lesson today thatJesus started telling His disciples that He would soon die. Peter was upset by what Jesuswas telling them, and Jesus told Peter that he did not have God's concerns but only humanconcerns. Peter did not understand why Jesus would have to die to be a ransom for oursins. He and the other disciples thought Jesus' rule as King was for the time they wereliving. They did not realize that Jesus would return and reign as the King of King foreverand ever. You can find this story in Matthew 16:21-26; Mark 8:31-37; and Luke 9:22-25.

PRAYER:

Almighty and everlasting God, Thank you forloving us enough to send Your one and only Son,Jesus Christ, to live and die for our sins so thatwe may be Your children. Thank you for being theGod of all mercy, perfect remission andforgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, wholives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, oneGod, for ever and ever. Amen.

Day 28 ~TRANSFIGURATION

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

Malachi 4:5-6 Revelation 22:12-13Matthew 17:1-13 Psalm 62:12

Today is the twenty-eighth day of the Lent season. The lesson today is found in the Gospels Matthew17:1-13; Mark 9: 2-13; and Luke 9:28-36. Can youimagine how Jesus' disciples felt after theyclimbed up the mountain with Jesus, and all of asudden Jesus was transformed right before their eyes. Jesus' face started shininglike the sun, and His clothes became white as the light. Then, as if that was notenough to make them amazed, Moses and Elijah appeared before them to talk toJesus. Moses and Elijah had died many years before Jesus was even born. Suddenlyas they were talking a bright cloud surrounded them, and a voice from the cloudsaid "This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I am well pleased. Listen to Him!"

Note: Moses appeared as the representative of the old covenant and the promise ofsalvation, which was soon to be fulfilled in the death of Jesus. Elijah appears as theappointed restorer of all things. (Malachi 4:5-6 ). In Luke 9:30 we are told that the

three were talking about Jesus' death.

PRAYER:

Almightyand

everlasting God, Thank you for this time ofyear that we remember what Jesus did forus so that we can become Your children, and live with you forever in heaven. Helpus to learn more about You and Your Sonfrom Your Word, the Bible. And help us tolearn to say NO to sins and YES to obeyingyour commandments and spending moretime with you.
