LACMA’s special events venues and services are available to corporations, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.

Corporate members at the Sponsor level ($10,000) have the opportunity to host an event in select museum spaces, while Partner-level ($15,000) members enjoy entertaining privileges in all of the museum’s premier venues and gallery spaces. Representatives from the Corporate Giving department are available to discuss the benefits of museum membership. Please contact 323 932-5843 for the full array of benefits.

Nonprofit organizations with proof of 501 (c)(3) status and government agencies with the appropriate documentation need not become corporate members.

LACMA’s venue spaces are available for, but not limited to, hosting:

• Client receptions • Awards banquets • Employee parties • Press events • Movie premieres and receptions • Conferences and meetings • Alumni receptions

Policy & Guidelines

All events hosted at LACMA include admission to one gallery; additional charges may apply if the selected exhibition is ticketed.

LACMA’s valuable art collection and exhibitions create an exciting and unique atmosphere that enhances the events in its facilities. The presence of the art and the character of the museum’s programs dictate special requirements.

In order to maintain the integrity of the museum, LACMA cannot accommodate the following:

• Events of a personal nature (weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, proms, anniversaries, etc.) • Fundraisers and silent auctions • Artwork display of any kind • Marketing/branding events

Event Services

• Access to LACMA’s preeminent art collection and world-class special exhibitions (exclusively after hours) • Event staffing, including gallery attendants, custodial services, and standard security • Full-service event planning • Catering by Patina Catering • In-house audiovisual staffing and equipment • Electrical and lighting support • Vendors for music, lighting, design, and floral needs • Valet parking • Audio or docent-led tours

Catering

LACMA is proud to have Patina Catering, led by renowned chef Joachim Splichal, as its exclusive contract caterer.

Patina provides optimal service and creative innovative menus of the highest quality.

Full catering services include:

• Continental breakfasts • Boxed, plated, or buffet lunches • Buffet and sit-down dinners • Cocktail receptions

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art provides a unique and elegant setting for your event, giving guests an exclusive opportunity to view art privately in the museum’s galleries. As one of the foremost art museums in the nation, LACMA houses a permanent collection of more than 130,000 works from ancient times to the present and from all corners of the globe. Throughout the year, LACMA mounts major special exhibitions, showcasing the world’s greatest art—from the work of a single artist to a celebrated period.

Event spacesRichard and Lenore Wayne FoyerAn intimate gathering place for events, the Wayne Foyer is surrounded by modern art galleries and overlooks Tony Smith’s towering sculpture, Smoke.

David Bohnett Foundation AtriumThe David Bohnett Foundation Atrium is a marvelous indoor space perfect for making an impression. Guests may mingle around Tony Smith’s Smoke, rising two stories high within the atrium.

North PiazzaThis flexible, open space is perfect for large outdoor events, and is easily accessed from any part of the west campus.

BP Grand EntranceLACMA’s main entrance is an open-air pavilion surrounded by magnificent works of art and architecture. Guests may enter the space through Chris Burden’s luminous Urban Light installation. BCAM and the Resnick Pavilion are both just steps away.

Bing TheaterHome to LACMA’s renowned film and music programs, the Bing Theater is equipped for 35mm and 70mm film as well as video productions.

brown auditoriumEquipped with rear projection and a 15’ x 5’ screen, the lecture hall is perfect for small lectures, slide shows, and PowerPoint presentations.

Los angeles times central courtThe courtyard lends a stunning backdrop to large or small standing receptions, seated dinners, or dancing.

Rental rates may vary depending on the type of event and are subject to change without notice.

Events are booked for a 4-hour timeframe. Events exceeding the 4-hour window or requiring extensive setups will incur additional charges.

Facility fees include museum admission; security, including gallery attendants; custodial services; full-service events coordination; in-house audiovisual staffing and basic equipment; and standard electrical and lighting support. Additional fees may apply for specially ticketed exhibitions.
