Special Feature: Graduate Statistics Studio
The Graduate Statistics Studio (GSS) was developed in Fall 2015 under the auspices of the Graduate Net Initiative, in
collaboration with faculty and staff across various disciplines. This free service offers graduate students help with
their statistics through one-on-one consultations. The consultants are, themselves, graduate students who have
been trained to help their colleagues through every step of the statistical analysis. Consultants at the GSS assist stu-
dents before data collection and provide aid during the research process. It does not matter if it is a thesis, disserta-
tion, project, homework, or statistical related question, the GSS is designed to help graduate students gain the
knowledge and skills to succeed.
The GSS is located in the Henry Madden Library - Graduate Study Center (second floor, room 2119). The studio is
coordinated by Christopher Greenwood, a former Fresno State graduate student. Christopher received his M.A. de-
gree in Psychology: General Experimental in 2016 and has been working in the GSS since spring 2016.
Fall 2016 Graduate Statistics Studio Appointments
The GSS is open Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We also have virtual ZOOM appointments to accommodate students who cannot meet in person. Important Dates
Fall 2016 Final Thesis Submission Deadline: Friday, October 28, 2016 this is the date by which final thesis, fully edited and approved, must be submitted to the Dissertation/Thesis Office. For
further information please go to Divisions Graduate Studies website.
Fresno State Scholarships: The scholarships application period for Fresno State started October 1! Keep in mind there
different deadline for various scholarship.
Funding Opportunities
Graduate Net Initiative Conference Travel Grant - (ongoing: All materials must be submitted at least 60 days prior to conference/meeting) This Grant helps defray the cost of presenting at national conferences or professional meetings. Awards cover allowable expenses up to $1500.
Graduate Net Initiative Graduate Research Grant - (Deadline: November 1, 2016) This Grant is a competitive award which
helps defray the cost of conducting research associated with thesis, dissertation or culminating project. Awards cover allow-
able expenses up to $1000.
Graduate Net Initiative Division of Research and Graduate Studies Travel Grants -(ongoing: All materials must be sub-mitted at least 30 days prior to the conference/meeting) These grants are available throughout the year to students who have been invited to present a paper or poster at a major professional association conference or society meeting.

Since 1992, HACU has offered one of the best internship programs in the country. We believe that participation in an internsh ip is an invaluable
opportunity to gain hands-on work experience. Unlike so many other internship programs in the nation’s capitol, there are no fees to apply for or
participate. On top of that, all internship positions are paid, housing and travel can be arranged at no cost to our interns, provisions can be made for
interns to receive academic credit, and free professional development activities are regularly offered during the program.

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Must exercise good judgement without constant supervision
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks

After attending our workshops, you’ll be able to turn right around and use what you’ve learned in your daily life. What’s more: attend any 4 workshops and you’ll earn a “Leadership Academy” certificate, recognizing you as a leader who is dedicated to honing his/her craft.
The first step to being a great leader is showing up.
Together with your fellow student leaders, you'll discuss ways to take your leadership skills from ordinary to exempla-
ry. You'll walk away with a deeper understanding of how you can more effectively guide groups that you are a part of,
and how you can become the leader you were always meant to be.
