    Review of Existing Data and Eligibility

    Meeting

    If the parent agrees no additional testing isneeded the group can move on to the

    Parental Rights

    Parents can request a special educationevaluation at anytime.

    If an immediate evaluation is requested, it must

    be fulfilled within 60 days. RTI may not be used as a reason to not complete

    a special education evaluation.

    The RTI becomes part of the evaluation if it is

    ongoing. Requests for a traditional evaluation can be

    declined in Illinois

    Parental consent

    Throughout RTI parental consent is not

    necessary, however it must be sought when

    RTI determines a special education evaluation

    is necessary.

    Must be obtained anytime a special education

    evaluation is conducted!
