FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

“When the going gets tough/ The tough get going…” Perhaps nothing could more aptly describe our students better than the

song.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the very basis of human existence, with its profound impact felt in the domain of

education, teaching and learning. Schools had to be shut down and academics seemed to hit a dead-end.

Yet, such a stalemate cannot be allowed to go on and so a very new journey in the transaction of curriculum began for us

through the virtual mode.

The greatest challenge, however, lay in the conduct of the Board examinations; and with these being cancelled, the onus

was on schools to collate data for tabulation of marks for Class-X and XII examinations. Although a herculean task, the

CBSE, herein, deserves the greatest commendation for its policies and parameters for compilation and standardization of

students’ marks so that the award of marks remains fair and none are deprived of their rightful credit. And, with all these

being done with aplomb, the CBSE results could finally be declared.

Herein, it gives me immense delight and happiness to state that our students have come out commendably in A.I.S.S.E (Std.

X) and A.I.S.S.C.E (Std. XII), 2021 and there is no qualm to claim that they have, very rightly, deserved their marks. The

excellent results, I must add here, are the outcomes of their hard work over the academic session, their sustained patience

and perseverance, the dedicated efforts of the teachers and unconditional support of parents and guardians.

Burnpur Riverside School, Burnpur has always been the other name for excellence and 2021 results were no exception.

With regards to Class – XII, a mammoth 71 students have secured 90% and above. Richa Gupta of the Commerce Stream,

with a percentage of 98, is the proud School Topper for the year.

Std. X results were equally commendable. As many as 85 students have obtained 90% and above. Ranit Roy and Shourya

Sarkar are the proud toppers, having secured 98.80%.

And all these make it imperative on my part to congratulate and extend my best wishes to the students and parents,

teachers and the staff for working untiringly and unceasingly to bring about this moment of glory for us. I, as well, thank

the management of B.R.S for their relentless support to the cause of this excellence.

TOPPERS SPEAK ………

I was extremely happy when the results were out. My joy knew no bounds. I was glad that I

could make my school and my parents proud.

I express my gratitude to my parents, Principal Sir, all my teachers, the entire school and above all God.

As an advice to the future aspirants, I would like to say work hard from the day-1 itself as there is no

alternative to hard work.

Ranit Roy

Std. X

Once upon a time becoming a topper in the school was one of my favourite day-dreams. I cherished the

dream deep in my heart and today that dream of mine is fulfilled. Words are not enough to express my joy

and satisfaction. I am very much pleased that I could make my parents proud. At the same time I can feel the

responsibility I am entrusted with. I know that this success will inspire me to get more success and has

brought me the faith that “Yes, I can do it.” On this auspicious occasion I would like to thank my parents, all my teachers, relatives and friends and the

school who have always helped me and inspired me on my way to success. I would specially thank my

teachers whose love, care and guidance always kept me focused. I thank my parents to always stand by me

in any problem. I would like to tell my juniors to always cherish the dream of super success. Your fixed aim and sincere

efforts can lead you to the path of success. Nothing is impossible in life and we should have the positive

faith that, ‘I can be the topper and can make my school proud’. With firm belief in the heart, only hard work

and sincere study will give you the desired result. Never subdue to the burdens of expectation rather enjoy it.

I know many toppers are waiting behind me.

Shourya Sarkar

Std. X

Getting my 12th results was a mix of emotions for me. On one hand, I was extremely happy to be the school

topper once again, while on the other, overwhelmed that my BRS journey had officially come to an end.

I would like to dedicate this to all those people who had supported and guided me throughout the entire

journey – my parents and brother, teachers and the school, friends and family. It would not have been

possible had they been not there. Last but not the least, I want to thank all for believing in me.

To the future aspirants, I must say that consistency is the key to success. Take a break once in a while but

return even more determined. For board exams, NCERT books and previous-year question papers should be

solved thoroughly.

Lastly, I thank BRS for being my second home and making me what I'm today and hopefully better in the

future.

Richa Gupta

Std. XII (Commerce)

I was very elated when I got to know that I'm the Science Topper of my school for the year, 2021. Finally

my hard work and perseverance bore fruit. I'm very grateful to my caring parents, dedicated teachers, my

helpful classmates, my school and all my well-wishers without whom I couldn't have gained this

achievement.

What I feel is that these exams not only test one's academic excellence but also patience, discipline, will-

power and how efficiently you can control your emotions. There are times, especially during this pandemic

situation, when we all feel without an inspiration, totally frustrated and no focus. Hence, keep up your self-

motivation and positivity and try to study with enthusiasm and enjoyment.

It delights me to learn of the stupendous results of our students in AISSE and AISSCE (Std. X

and Std. XII Board Examinations). The session, 2021-22, did witness unprecedented changes in

the system of examination and tabulation of marks and our students retained their patience till

the end. They bore the brunt of the time with aplomb, and despite being almost cocooned in

their homes for the entire session, they never did let the situation overwhelm them.

Once more, I congratulate the students and wish for them the very brightest future.
