You will be allocated a personal Training & Development Manager who will work alongside you, ensuring that we fully meet your expectations. Are you a company who wants to develop a training plan to improve your performance? We can become your internal Learning & Development department, offering coaching, training and on-going support to your people to increase their performance. Your dedicated Training & Development Manager will work with you to develop your learning strategy and implement this fully. Everything we do is fully evaluated to measure the impact it has on your business and its’ performance .

Coaching Skills

Duration: 2 Days

Coaching delivers tangible benefits to your business, including increased performance, higher productivity, increased motivation and higher staff retention.

This 2 day programme equips managers with the knowledge, skills and practice they need to coach their employees and increase their performance as a direct result. Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Accurately explain the difference between coaching &

feedback and state when to use each one. • Set up an effective coaching relationship. • Ask insightful coaching questions. • Apply a proven coaching model to achieve success.

This course is delivered by a certified coach and there will be a live coaching demonstration as well as the opportunity to receive individual feedback. Each participant will leave with the tools and insight to apply this learning in their work immediately . We can also offer additional coaching support in the workplace as part of this programme.

Managing Performance

Duration: 1 Day

This programme is focused on equipping managers with the knowledge and skills required to inspire and manage performance within their people.

Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Successfully write clear, measurable performance

objectives for your staff. • Develop personal development plans to enable delivery

of objectives and facilitate succession planning. • Conduct an effective performance review giving

balanced feedback. • Successfully deal with underperformance by applying a

proven model that inspires and motivates.

This course is aligned to the organisations’ performance management process and is therefore best delivered as an in-house programme. Through our HR Partner we can also offer support in designing an effective performance management system.

Disciplinary Skills

Duration: 1 Day

Every year companies are subject to employment tribunals which can be costly in terms of time, reputation and ultimately money.

This programme equips managers to deal with issues of capability and conduct effectively, respectfully and within the law. Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Clearly explain the difference between issues of

capability and conduct. • Ensure that all actions comply with current employment

legislation. • Undertake a fair and thorough disciplinary investigation. • Conduct an effective hearing and come to a reasonable

decision. • Explain the key outcomes of the process and how to deal

with each one, including dismissal. • Prepare the relevant paperwork required by law.

This course includes case studies which give the participants the opportunity to apply their learning. Each participant will leave with the tools and insight to apply this learning in their work immediately.

Employment Law for Managers

Duration: ½ day

In any role where you manage people it is important that you have an up to date knowledge of employment law to prevent any legal claim being made.

This programme provides participants with an overview of employment legislation and how to apply this to your business using case studies. Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Clearly explain key legislation around equality, diversity,

sickness, working time and agency workers. • Apply best practice to ensure legal obligations are met.

Through our partner HR Company we can arrange for a full review / set up of policies and procedures

Managing Grievances

Duration: 1 Day

Inevitably, conflict will occur in organisations and this can lead to a formal complaint or grievance.

There is a legal obligation for employers to deal with grievances officially and this 1 day course will deliver all the knowledge and skills required to do this effectively. Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Clearly explain the legal definition of a formal grievance

and the process for dealing with this. • Ensure all legal requirements are fully met. • Conduct a grievance hearing and come to a fair decision. • Manage the outcome of a grievance to ensure

continued performance and motivation. • Describe a range of steps to prevent a grievance

situation.

This course includes case studies which give the participants the opportunity to apply their learning. Each participant will leave with the tools and insight to apply this learning in their work immediately.

Interviewing Skills

Duration: 1 to 2 Days

One of the most important responsibilities of a manager is in recruiting the right person into the right role. This course focuses on giving managers the skills and confidence to recruit effectively.

Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Explain a range of assessment options and when to use

each one (e.g. interview, case study, role play). • Apply employment law to ensure a fair and lawful

approach is adopted. • Create an effective set of interview questions for the

position including scoring mechanisms. • Conduct an interview and assess the candidates against

the criteria set out. • Deliver the outcome of an interview including feedback.

We can offer the course in a 1 or 2 day option. The second day provides the opportunity to practice and receive feedback. Through our strategic partners we can provide support in recruitment including advertising, candidate identification and interviewing.

Leading change

Duration: ½ Day

Change is inevitable in business. This programme is focused on leading a team of people through a change effectively and with minimal disruption.

Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Plan effectively for change (including work planning,

communication strategies and impact analysis). • Apply proven models of change to a given situation to

support employees and customers through the change process.

• Write a strategy to maintain business performance through times of change.

We can also provide coaching and consultancy support to any business going through change.

Duration: ½ day

Problem solving generally starts by looking at what’s not working and planning to overcome this. Appreciate Inquiry provides a new perspective on this and approaches a challenge by looking at the successes to date and building on them to enable growth.

This programme introduces the process and skill of appreciate inquiry as a tool for business growth. Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Clearly explain what Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is and

when it would be appropriate to use it. • Successfully apply the process to support decision

making using the AI method. • Support others in working with problems using AI.

This programme provides an opportunity to experience AI in practice as well as learning some of the key skills needed.

Motivating Others

Duration: ½ Day

This course covers some of the key factors affecting motivation and equips participants with strategies to create an environment and approach that motivates performance in their people.

Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Accurately describe what motivation is and the factors

that impact it. • Successfully identify what motivates you and your team

members. • Clearly explain how to build an environment that

motivates and inspires others. • Write a clear strategy to apply your learning to your

team.

First Time Manager

Duration: 1 Day

Managing people for the first time can be a daunting prospect – it requires a new set of skills and a different approach. This course is designed to equip first time managers with the fundamental skills to get started in their new role.

Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Clearly describe the role of a manager. • Successfully identify the key skills required to be effective

in managing people. • Deliver effective and impactful feedback to enable

performance. • Clearly set and communicate expectations and manage

against them. • Create a 90 day personal acceleration plan.

This course is ideal as part of an induction programme, we can work with you to tailor make an induction for your organisation using our Leadership Roadmap. We highly recommend this course is offered in conjunction with our Employment Law for Managers course.

Sales are the lifeblood of any organisation, yet they can be the element that a lot of people fear. In this workshop we de-mystify the sales process and show you how to convert more of your prospects into customers.

The workshop focuses on building skills and confidence so that you can put techniques into practice straight away. Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Explain the sales process from prospecting through to

after sales. • Uncover your customers’ needs by asking appropriate

questions. • Match your products to the customers’ needs using key

Effective Telephone Selling

Duration: 1 Day

Cold calling or telemarketing can be the most dreaded of all the sales activities yet it doesn’t have to be this way! In this programme we de-mystify telemarketing and equip you with the skills and confidence you need to successfully generate business through cold calling.

Following completion of this course participants will be able to : • Successfully step into the mind-set of a successful tele-

marketer. • Successfully generate a clear prospect list. • Create a bespoke introduction that creates ‘tell me more’

responses. • Successfully overcome objections, get past the

gatekeeper and speak to the decision maker. • Secure the appointment and covert prospects into

customers.

Some people think cold calling is a necessary part of growing your business, however, there is a much more cost effective, efficient and enjoyable way to achieve the same result. Sales Floor Management – Retail

This course is developed specifically for supervisors and managers responsible for managing the customer experience on a retail sales floor. The course explores how to manage a sales team, maximise the service experience, increase sales and minimise loss.
