Introduction To SpaceWinder

This project originally came about in response to seeing the difficulties leaders encountered when running their Space winder Derby events. Knowing these difficulties, we challenged ourselves to create a product that would eliminate these barriers and ensure a smooth running event. Wind four rockets at one time, preparing all racers together.Wind all rockets evenly, making racing equal for all racers.Eliminate cuts, bruises, and other injuries from manually winding the blades.Reduce lengthily winding time down to mere seconds.

How Space Winder Works-Elimination of Barriers Return

Prepares all rockets and racers in the same heat at one time.Four rockets are placed into individual stations on the SpaceWinder. Each rocket is connected to a single direct drive gear train.

Reduces winding time down to seconds.Without the Space Winder, it takes racers quite a while, each at different speeds and lengths of time, to get their rockets wound. For instance, racers #1 and #2 are ready to go, waiting for #3 and #4 to wind and finish. Or racers #1, #2, and #3 are ready to go, but racer #4 accidently slipped his finger.

Ensures that all rockets are wound equallygiving them the same number of winds. Currently each racer manually winds their rocket, resulting in an inconsistent amount of winds per racer. For instance, racer #1 may be quick and wind his rubber band 100+ times. Racer #2 may have never done it before and winds his only 75. This gives racer #1 a clear advantage before the race even starts.

Create your own amazing Space Derby Rockets

Cub Scout participates in different activities out of all most renowned event is space derby. The kids need to create their own rocket for participation. Space winder They get a space derby pack in which they get all the necessary materials and tools required in creating a rocket. This pack includes two balsa wood pieces, propellers, fins, needle nose, sandpaper and glue. There is a rule in space derby event that once used space derby rockets cannot be used again in next event so to participate in next event create a new one.
