ANTHEM ”Lord, I Trust Thee” All Comer’s Choir by G. F. Handel (1685-1759) Scott Bosscher, Director

Lord, I trust thee, I adore thee. Ah! Thou friend of man, restore me! On thy loving grace relying, For the bread of life I’m sighing. Quench my thirst and let my hunger cease, Fill my heart with joy and endless peace. When the breath of life has left me, May my soul be blended with thee. (Barthold Brockes, 1680-1747)

SERMON The Power of Parables - 6 Rev. Dr. Todd Cioffi; 8 Ways to Change Your Perspective Director, Calvin Prison Initiative

A WORD ABOUT TODAY’S MUSIC Julia Brown

OFFERTORY ANTHEM “Come Down, O Love Divine” All-Comer’s Choir by William H. Harris (1883-1973) Scott Bosscher, Director

Come down, O Love divine, Seek thou this soul of mine, And visit it with thine own ardor glowing; O Comforter draw near, Within my heart appear, And kindle it, thy holy flame bestowing.

O let it freely burn, Till earthly passions turn To dust and ashes in its heat consuming; And let thy glorious light Shine ever on my sight, And clothe me round, the while my path illuming.

Let holy charity Mine outward vesture be, And lowliness become mine inner clothing: True lowliness of heart, Which takes the humbler part, And o’er its own shortcomings weeps with loathing.

And so the yearning strong, With which the soul will long, Shall far outpass the power of human telling; For none can guess its grace, Till be become the place Wherein the Holy Spirit makes his dwelling. Amen. (Bianco da Siena, d. 1434)
