A series of concerts is running in conjunction with theSouthern Ontario Chamber Music Institute (SOCMI), asummer chamber camp held at Appleby College.
The Penderecki String Quartet performs on Aug. 14 atSt. Jude's Anglican Church, 160 William St. A pre-concerttalk will be held at 7:30 p.m., with the performance at 8p.m. The concert will feature works by Beethoven, JeffRyan, and Mendelssohn.
The 20th Anniversary Celebration Homecoming Galaand Concert goes Aug. 16 at Willis Hall at Appleby College,540 Lakeshore Rd. W. The gala and cocktail reception goesat 6 p.m. with the celebration concert at 8 p.m. The concertfeatures the world-premiere of a work by renownedCanadian composer Abigail Richardson, performed by theSOCMI orchestra.
The SOCMI Student Showcase runs Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. atWillis Hall, Appleby College.

A series of outdoor concerts calledMusic in the Square that take place inCentriller Square outside of CJ's Café inBronte Village continues on Saturday.
The concert will run from noon tomidnight and feature retro rock.
Performers are: The Diamond Effect(noon), Hat Trick (1:30 p.m.), TheMarawders (2:30 p.m.), Three FingerArrow (4 p.m.), Cliff Lee Band (5:30p.m.), SKP (6:45 p.m.), StressManagement (8:15 p.m.) and Solid (9:45p.m. and 11:45 p.m.)
Admission to all performances is free.CJ's Café is located at 2416 Lakeshore Rd.W.

The final concert of the IntradaBrass outdoor concert season will bepresented this Sunday afternoon atthe Waterfront Stage, CoronationPark, at 3 p.m.
Once again, music director BramGregson will lead Oakville's residentbrass band in a lively program ofmusic, including Broadway songs,light classics and high-steppingmarches.
The 75-minute performance willgo on, rain or shine.
