The thread designation is generally to comprise thesymbol denoting the type of thread and the value ofthe nominal diameter on nominal size. followed whererequired by the value of the pitch or number of threads,tolerance, number of start. taper and whether the threadis a left-hand thread. In the case of a number of screwthreads conforming to this standard, the designation ispreceded by the number.

It should be noted that when using Tables 1,2 and 3 onlythe latest edition of each standard referred to shall apply.
