1st Semester , A.Y. 2009-2010

Mission of the CSCST System:The mission of the Cebu State College of Science and Technology System is to:1. Provide effective education and training for the youths and adults for immediate entry Into the industrial, agricultural, fishery and information technology,

and distributive occupations consistent of the manpower requirements of the domestic and global market;2. Provide the opportunities to the youth for purchasing higher education, physical and natural sciences, research and graduate studies for progressive

leadership;3. Provide special programs for advancement on the job for those who are gainfully employed through updating thrust;4. Address efforts to the environmental problems in the area in collaboration with appropriate agencies (BP 412).

Mission of the College:

The institution shall provide effective instruction, promote research and extension, enhance production, and develop entrepreneurial programs in agriculture, forestry and other related fields; and provide opportunities for advance studies, progressive leadership and address environmental problems.

Vision of the College:

The CSCST – Barili Campus envisions to be the center of development in the fields of agriculture, science and technology and professional education in Region VII.

Course Outline :

This course deals with the study of the housekeeping department, its organization and functions. It also includes the various housekeeping operations like cleaning, care and maintenance of guestrooms, public areas like function rooms, offices and all other areas of the hotel. Also, it includes other housekeeping services like linen and laundry service; sanitation and refuse management; washing, issuance, repair and inventory of employees’ uniforms; installation, cleaning and maintenance of fixtures and facilities like furniture and appliances; and the provision of special services like baby sitting, polishing shoes, etc. It will also take up safety and security in housekeeping, and the management and monitoring the housekeeping job.

General Objectives

This course aims to

1. Provide the knowledge, skills, and work techniques related to housekeeping and cabin stewarding of hotels;2. Provide the ideals of a clean, safe and comfortable environment which gives the feeling of security and reassurance of hotel guests;3. Persuade students to conform to standards of sanitation and safety as required by local, national and international laws;4. Encourage attitudes, values and hobbies that would enhance their competencies needed to become effective workers in the hotel industry;5. Relate the course to the fulfillment of the mission and vision of the CSCST and the department;6. Provide problem-solving skills involved in rooming, making-up rooms, and room service procedures.
