The Donau Soja demo platform organized at Agrichim Fetesti had an area of 1.8 ha.

The following experimental plots had been carried out in the demo platform:

1. Collection display of 42 soybean varieties from different maturity groups

2. Time of Sowing

3. Seeding Densities

4. Distances Between Rows

5. Weed Control

The parameters of the comparison plot are the following:

Distance between rows: 37,5 cm

Band width per variety: 4 m

Plot width: 164 m

Plot length: 50 m

Acreage per variety: 200 m2

Total acreage: 8200 m2

Inoculum: Poliriz S (Transapicola)

Planting of varieties was executed on April 22nd, 2015 with SUP 31M drill at 37,5 cm distance

between rows.

Due to normal moisture and temperature condition the emergence was uniform; the emergence

was observed during three days from April 30th to May 2nd, 2015.

The 2015 results observed on the 42 soybean varieties displayed in Donau Soja demo platform

are presented in Table 2.

Under the specific conditions of 2015, the average height of the plants was between 60 cm for

soy varieties Sunrise, Merlin, SY Eliot and 140 cm for variety Darina TD. Generally, lower plant

height was recorded for early varieties.

The insertion height of basal pod varied between 6-8 cm for varieties Solena, Sunrise, Adsoy

and Merlin and 18-20 cm for varieties Rosa, Srebrina and Vigo.

Due to the diversity of soybean genotypes in terms of maturity groups, the variation limits of

the vegetation period were quite wide, from 105 to 132 days. The earliest soy variety was Adsoy

with 105 days followed by Solena and Merlin with 112 days.

The 2015 yields have been affected by the drought in July and the first decade of August. During

this period many soybean varieties started to form the pods or the grains or even starting filling

the grains. These phenophases require a significant water consumption; most of water quantity

was supplied through 2 irrigations by aspersion (approx. 800 sqm/Ha).

Under these circumstances, the yields ranged from 2200 kg/Ha for variety Sunrise and 3550

kg/Ha for soy varieties Triumf, Ika, Vigo and Srebrina.

TGW values were between 141 grams for Korana variety and 212 grams for soy varieties Sinara,

Sigalia and Isidor.

TIME OF SOWING

In the Time of Sowing experience, the following experimental plot has been established:

1. Time of Sowing I - early seeding on April 13th, 2015

2. Time of Sowing II - seeding during optimal period on April 22nd, 2015

3. Time of Sowing III - late seeding on April 30th, 2015

The parameters of the seeding period plot are the following:

Distance between rows: 37,5 cm

Soy varieties: Oana F (00, NARDI Fundulea) and Daciana (0, NARDI Fundulea)

No. of variants: 6

Band width per sowing date per variety: 4 m

Plot width: 24 m

Plot length: 50 m

Acreage per time of sowing plot: 200 m2

Total acreage: 1200 m2

Inoculum: Poliriz S (Transapicola)

Although the soil water reserve and temperature have been little below the normal, the Time of

Sowing I planted varieties, Oana F and Daciana registered a uniform emergence on April 24th,

2015.

In the Time of Sowing II the normal temperature and sufficient soil moisture determined a quick

and uniform emergence of both soy varieties.

For Time of Sowing III the emergence of both soy varieties had a normal and uniform emergence,

8 days after seeding date.

Plant height ranged between 100 cm and 118 cm for soy variety Oana F and between 110 cm

and 125 cm for soy variety Daciana.

Generally, the higher values of plant height were recorded in the Time of Sowing I.

The highest values of insertion height have been observed for the Time of Sowing III.

Yields achieved were similar in all three Time of Sowing; a small plus is registered in Time of

Sowing I.

Similarly, TGW had values very close to all three Time of Sowing.

SEEDING DENSITIES

The Seeding Densities experience was planted on April 22nd, 2015 with a SUP 31M drill at 37,5

cm distance between rows.

Three densities were experimented:

1. 50 germinating grains/m2

2. 60 germinating grains/m2

3. 70 germinating grains/m2

The parameters of the seeding densities plot are the following:

Soy variety: Daciana (0, NARDI Fundulea)

No. of variants: 3

Band width per density experience: 8 m

Plot width: 24 m

Plot length: 50 m

Acreage per density experience: 400 m2

Total acreage: 1200 m2

Inoculum: Poliriz S (Transapicola)

In all three Seeding Densities experiences the emergence was normal on May 1st, 2015.

Both plant height and height insertion of the basal pods recorded very close or same values in

some cases.

Under 2015 conditions, the plant height was 114 cm at a density of 50 g.g/m2, 115 cm for 60

g.g/m2 and 118 cm at the density of 70 g.g/m2.

The insertion height of the basal pod was 11 cm at the density of 50 g.g/m2 and 12 cm at both

densities of 60 g.g/m2 and 70 g.g/m2.

The highest production of 3380 kg/Ha was obtained at the density of 60 g.g/m2.

TGW has registered very similar values with a slight superiority at the density of 50 g.g/m2.

DISTANCES BETWEEN ROWS

The Distance Between Rows experience was seeded on April 22nd, 2015 with a SUP 31M drill.

Three distances between rows were experimented:

1. 25 cm between rows

2. 37,5 cm between rows

3. 50 cm between rows

The parameters of the seeding densities plot are the following:

Soy variety: Daciana (0, NARDI Fundulea)

No. of variants: 3

Band width per density experience: 8 m

Plot width: 24 m

Plot length: 50 m

Acreage per density experience: 400 m2

Total acreage: 1200 m2

Inoculum: Poliriz S (Transapicola)

The results of experiences on the distances between the rows are shown in Table 5.

In all three Distances Between Rows experiences the emergence was uniform on May 1st, 2015.

Plant height recorded very similar values, 114 cm at 25 cm distance between rows; 115 cm at

37,5 cm between rows and 117 cm at 50 cm distance between rows.

Insertion height was 12 cm for 25 cm and 37,5 cm distances between rows and 14 cm for 50

cm distance between rows.

The highest yield of 3350 kg/Ha was obtained for 37,5 cm distance between rows; this yield is

slightly superior to the one achieved at 25 cm between rows (3310 kg/Ha) and the yield obtained

for 50 cm between rows (3280 kg/Ha).

The highest values of TGW were recorded at 37,5 cm and 50 cm distance between rows (174 g).

WEED CONTROL

Planting of the varieties in Weed Control experience was performed on April 22nd, 2015 with a

SUP 31M drill at 37,5 cm distance between rows.

The parameters of the weed control plot are the following:

Soy variety: Daciana (0, NARDI Fundulea)

Band width per herbicide variant: 20 m

Plot width: 100 m

Plot length: 50 m

Acreage per herbicide variant: 1000 m2

Total acreage: 5000 m2

Inoculum: Poliriz S (Transapicola)

4 variants of weed control were experienced with pre and post-emerging herbicides as follows:

Variant # 1

Pre-emergent: Wing P (Dimetenamid-P 212,5 gr/l + Pendimetalin 250 gr/l), 4 l/ha BASF

Post-emergent: Corum (Bentazon 480 g/l + Imazamox 22,4 g/l), 0,95 l/ha + Dash, 0,5 l/ha

BASF (2 passes)

Variant # 2

Pre-emergent: Frontier Forte (Dimetenamid-P 720 g/l), 1,4 l/ha BASF

Post-emergent: Pulsar 40 (Imazamox 40 g/l), 1 l/ha BASF

Basagran Forte (Bentazon 480 g/l + Wettol 150 g/l), 2 l/ha BASF

Stratos Ultra (Cicloxidim 100 g/l), 2 l/ha + Dash, 2 l/ha) BASF

Variant # 3

Pre-emergent: Pendigan (Pendimetalin 330 g/l), 5,0 l/ha + Surdone (Metribuzin 700 g/kg),

0,5 l/ha + Grounded 0,2 l/Ha ADAMA

Post-emergent: Leopard (Quizalofop-P-etil 50 g/l), 2 l/ha ADAMA

Variant # 4

Pre-emergent: Pendigan 330 EK (Pendimetalin 330 g/l) 3.0 l/Ha + Surdone (Metribuzin 700

g/kg), 0,5 l/ha + Grounded 0,2 l/Ha ADAMA

Post-emergent: Agil (Propaquizafop 100 g/l), 1,5 l/ha ADAMA

Pre-emergence treatments were applied on April 23rd, 2015 for all four herbicide variants.

Post-emergence herbicides were applied as follows:

Pulsar and Corum herbicides on May 21st, 2015

On May 30th, 2015 all other post-emergence herbicides

On May 10th, 2015 the second pass with Corum herbicide

Under the conditions of 2015 all 4 variants of herbicides had good efficacy in controlling the

weeds existing in respective plots.

Both plant height and height insertion of basal pods registered close values in all four herbicide

variants.

For all 4 herbicide variant yield values were very close, respectively between 3300 kg/Ha and

3360 kg/Ha.

TGW had similar values to all four herbicides variants, ranging between 170 and 174 gr.
