Hello and Welcome! What a wonderful summer we’ve had. The World Cup and Wimbledon were avidly followed by many of our residents. Read the rest of the Sparkle for details of our summer picnic and the many other activities we’ve enjoyed, together with details of lots of fun yet to come. As always at Southerndown Care Home the emphasis has been on Care and Home. Our residents are cared for in all senses of the word and we make every effort to ensure that they see this as their home and their families consider us a home from home. Our dedicated staff work hard through heat waves and frozen winters to maintain the highest of standards without ever losing the personal touch. Our residents and their families are our friends. Friends whose input is very much appreciated. Our recent residents meeting was an amazing success with many suggestions made and opinions voiced. It was a pleasure to hear so many people fully participating in the life of the home. It’s nearly a year since the WOW project refurbished various areas in the Elderly Frail Unit and the 10-60-6 project improved the decoration and much more in Memory Lane. The new café area in Elderly Frail has proved to be popular with visitors who are now able to help themselves to drinks and delicious cakes and chat to family and other visiting relatives. So now we look forward to cooler days and cosying up in our comfortable, homely lounges. Before we know it the Festive Season will be upon us and we all know the excitement that brings. As always myself and my team are available if you, as relatives, have anything you wish to discuss. We, as always, will do everything in our power to keep your relatives, our residents, safe, happy and well cared for. Remember - at Southerndown we keep Sparkling!
