Office Hours Page one shows both my face-to-face and virtual office hours. The virtual office hours will be with the use of Zoom video conference technology online. At the beginning of each week, I will post in an announcement at providing a web link to access the Zoom meeting virtually. If you would like to attend during those times just follow the Zoom instructions. Grading Feedback All assignments will be graded within seven days from the due date, if not before. Missed Exam Policy Make-up exams will be administered only under circumstances involving a religious observation. Late Assignment Policy All late work is given an automatic zero for the grade after the due date/time has passed. However, late work can be made-up following a few stipulations. Any student needing to submit an assignment late needs to notify the instructor by email at [email protected] prior to the assignment due date. A valid reason needs to be provided on why the assignment needs to be submitted late (i.e., doctor’s note). A penalty deduction will be applied to all work that is submitted late. The student needs to notify the instructor by email at [email protected] when the late work has indeed been completed and submitted. Failing to do so could result in the grade staying at the original zero grade. Plan ahead and manage your time wisely. Classroom Behavior Expectations It is expected that everyone conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times in and outside the classroom to include (1) being on time for class; Note: if anyone has to arrive late to class or leave early, enter and exit quietly as to not to be disruptive; (2) being actively engaged in the classroom discussion and activities; (3) not socializing, talking, or laughing with friends (or self) in the classroom especially while instructor is talking; (4) completing all assignments by designated due dates; (5) treating all classmates and instructor with respect at all times; and (6) removing hoodies while in the classroom. Any variation from these classroom behavior expectations could result in a phone call, text or email from the instructor; notifying student’s coach, or parent (whenever applicable); a face-to-face meeting with the instructor; and/or dismissal or removal from class. Additionally, class seating arrangements can be modified to better enhance a more positive classroom learning environment for everyone involved. Statement of Academic Integrity All students must comply with Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s School of Business Policy on Academic Honesty. This policy statement covers cheating, plagiarism, unauthorized possession, or disposition of academic material, as well as sanctions and procedures. Details of this policy can be found below within the university Student Handbook. How the Assignments are Graded in This Course and Full Explanation of the Assignments

1. Exams and How They are Graded All exams are graded on a 0-100% scale. Each exam has 50 multiple choice questions worth 2 points each, for a total of 100 points. There is a 2-hour time limit for the exams.

2. Microsoft Excel: Structured Activities and How They are Graded

All Microsoft Excel: structured activities are graded with 100 possible points available. Each activity includes a provided instructional video/tutorial on how to work the problem. There is an Excel spreadsheet already embedded into this structured activity for you to use for your analysis. There is one time to submit this activity, however, there are two help resources which can be utilized prior to submitting to include: (1) show additional resources and (2) check my work. After 48 hours, detailed feedback will be provided. The actual number of questions you will have for each Microsoft Excel: Structured Activity will vary. For example, if you are asked five questions, then each question would be worth 20 points each. If you are asked 10 questions, each question would be worth 10 points each. Note: If you are unable to locate statistical functions in your Excel spreadsheets, you will need to download the “Analysis Toolpak in Excel.” Click here to find out more information on how to do this.

3. Interpreting the Results Activities and How They are Graded

The Interpreting the Results activities are graded with 100 possible points available. You are allowed one time to complete the activity, however, you are allowed to check your work one time prior to submitting and hints are provided when available. The number of questions asked will vary. For example, if you are asked five questions, then each question would be worth 20 points each. If you are asked 10 questions, each question would be worth 10 points each.

4. Statistical Project Team PowerPoint and Website Presentation Activity and How This is Graded

The statistical project team presentation activity will be graded utilizing a standard grading rubric (see below). There is a total of 100 points to gain on the project with an additional 5 bonus points available.

Instructions for Statistical Project Team PowerPoint and Website Presentation Activity This project will consist essentially of three parts: (1) The overall PowerPoint presentation file, (2) the team oral presentation in-class, and (3) the created statistical website which should be embedded in the PowerPoint presentation file. The team needs to create and design a PowerPoint and a website that explains one statistical concept per team member. The PowerPoint and the website should not use any numerical math or formulas and should explain the concepts so that a general audience could understand. However, charts, clip art, and graphs are expected. The PowerPoint and the website should have different statistical concepts. For example, if the team has three team members, then there will be three statistical concepts covered on the PowerPoint and an additional three, but different from the PowerPoint statistical concepts covered on the website for a total of six different statistical concepts covered. NOTE: 5 bonus points if you make short (approximately 30 seconds) YouTube or Vimeo or even iPhone/Android video clips that explain all of the team’s statistical concepts. These videos can be

embedded in either the PowerPoint presentation or the website, or both. Note: These videos need to be shown during the team’s presentation in-class.

Grading Rubric for Statistical Project Team PowerPoint and Website Presentation

Criteria Proficiency

Statistical Analysis

0-25 points Statistical concepts were addressed and explained utilizing a qualitative approach.

PowerPoint and Website Format

0-25 points

The correct number of statistical concepts were addressed based on team size; the PowerPoint presentation was in proper PowerPoint format; the website was aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate through.

Professionalism

0-25 points

The team was professional in their dress attire - at least in business casual dress (i.e. Slacks, khakis, skirts, dresses, sweaters, blazers, button down shirts.)

Presentation Skills

0-25 points

Each team member had a speaking part in the oral presentation; vocal projection and diction were good (not too low and not too loud); eye contact was strong with the entire audience; professional nature was exhibited in overall delivery and tone of the presentation.

Note: Peer evaluations will be taken into consideration when configuring individual final project grades.

5. Class Attendance and Class Participation and How This is Graded

Page 8: SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY BUS 2633: …...§ Justify technical skills through the use of operating SE’s Blackboard learning management system, Cengage MindTap digital

8

Excused absences will receive a 50/100 grade with providing evidence on being absent from class (i.e., doctor’s note, athletic game for SE athletes). An absence without an approved reason will receive a 0/100 points for that missed day(s). Anyone attending class and actively participating in the discussion and completing the in-class activities for that day will receive a grade of 100/100 for that day. Note: the class attendance and class participation grade can be adjusted based on the completeness of the in-class activity(s) turned in for that day. For example, if you turn in a blank (or very incomplete) sheet of paper or a worksheet, for the in-class activity then you could get a 50/100 for that class attendance/class participation grade.
