Imitation involves learning from other people by copying their actions. Student thinking may include: I can learn by watching other people. I can picture myself doing that. I think your strategy will work for me. I will learn from other peoples ideas. Through imitation SWPS aims to help students learn from each other. Tell Them From Me– Parent Survey Now Open! We are so proud of this incredible achievement and one we have not had for over 10 years. I wish to acknowledge and congratulate both our boys and girls soccer teams, Ms Shaw and Mr Brodie for this achievement. Both teams will now travel to compete against the South Coast. Tournament of Minds A group of students have been working hard this term, perfecng their performance for Tournament of Minds. This year their challenge was to rewrite The Wizard of Oz in the context of their own town, state or country. This is an excing opportunity for students as they develop many collaborave and performance skills. Well done to our team who performed at Sturt Public School on the weekend. AFL – Tony Lockett Shield Our boys team travels to Sydney to compete in the AFL PSSA compeon on Monday. We have made the top 4 in the state. We wish the boys and Mr Livio the very best in the upcoming compeon. Thank you to our parents who are supporng their travel. FC Cup Both the boys and girls teams parcipated in the knockout last Monday. The boys were outstanding, having to play most of the game a goal down. The game proceeded into extra me, and then a penalty shootout! The girls fought brilliantly for the full game and were unlucky not to come away with the win. Electricity Safety Week This week was Electricity Safety week. Our students were very fortunate to have a visit from Julian and Darren who work with Essenal Energy. They reminded us just how important it is to pay aenon to where power lines are when were outside and to make sure we are aware of where we use electrical products in our houses. The men brought along some of the special clothing they need to wear to help them to stay safe when working with electricity and impressed the school with the 13 metre height of the bucket on their bucket truck. Thank you Essenal Energy.
