South Sudan Oil & Power (SSOP), the country’s elite energy conference, returns to Juba on Oc-

tober 29-30, 2020 for its 4th edition, leading the future of investment and development in the country.

Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of Energy and Dams, SSOP 2020 strives to increase capital investments in hydrocarbons, infrastructure, power generation and technology.

SSOP 2020’s theme is #EnergyForTheEconomy and aims to highlight the country’s commitment to building a stronger economy around a thriving energy sector with hydrocarbons and power development as key drivers. The conference will bring together major economic stakeholders to foster dia-logue and create synergies towards common growth.

Amid long-awaited peace and stability with neighboring Su-dan, oil field production is rising, regional cooperation is set to thrive and power development is a key priority for the gov-ernment towards increased social inclusion. 2020 will see the launch of the country’s first licensing round since 2011, which, coupled with an attractive business environment, constitutes a pillar of the government’s goal to attract foreign investment.

SSOP 2019 was centered around a special #FocusOnFinance theme, hosted in Juba at The Crown Hotel with more than 600 delegates, speakers from all major operators in the country, exhibition stands and more. SSOP 2019 opened up new part-nerships and investments for South Sudan, including the sign-ing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Egypt.
