This past week, the SouthPittsburg Pirates varsityfootball team competed in amatchup against the SaleCreek Panthers. This gamewas a slaughter. The Piratescame out to play, and playthey did. In the first half alone, we
saw amazing performancesby Joseph Lilly, Cade Ken-nemore, and Dylan Mc-Queen to name just a few. With this game being onethat was crucial to win, andsince it was homecoming, the Pirates gave it everythingthey had against the Pan-thers. The Panthers strug-gled, but could not handlethe pressure. During the game there
was a delay when SaleCreek’s own Chase Burtonwas hurt in the first half.Burton suffered a compoundfracture, and had to be es-corted off the field via am-bulance. By the end of the first half,
the score was 42-0. As thegame went on, the Piratesproved once again why theyare a playoff contendingteam every year. Adding an-other 14 points to the board, left the Panthers with nochance to come back. The
Panthers were giving iteverything they had , and atleast hold the Pirates, butthat didn’t work either. Anexciting night of football andhomecoming ended with afinal score of Pirates 56 toPanthers 0.
