TEACH AND TEST PROGRAM STRUCTURE

South Bays Team Captains SystemTeam Captains tasks:• Team Captains and Substitutes are assigned to each

participating school in September• They are trained in the protocols for both water

sampling and beach trash collection and are given a Captain’s Manual (40 pages)

• They meet the students that they will work with at the annual Kick-off meeting in late September

• They communicate with the students reminding them of sampling dates and times

• They meet students on all sampling dates and distribute the sampling materials to the student teams

• They make an informal log of students attending• They insure that all water samples are taken correctly

and transported to the labs by the specified times• They can join the students who stay to process the

water samples in lab• They communicate with students about upcoming

non-sampling activities
