NSAC Members:
My compliments to Katrina Rote and Mary
Edwards on our recent Chapter Meeting in St.
Augustine, Florida. I know many others
contributed to the success of this meeting in
addition, and all those efforts did not go
unnoticed at our Chapter Meeting. For all those
that contributed in different ways regardless of
what it was big or small I say, “Thank You!”
Whether in planning, being a director, and
many early bird prizes that were given away at
the meeting. I really believe that we may have
had some of the best speakers that we have had
at a Chapter Meeting. It is great to get quality
cpe’s and enjoy the presentations. The venue
was certainly a pleasant and entertaining area
of the country with a great amount of history. I
know my family had a big time and enjoyed
our visit to St. Augustine. Kathy, Laura, and I
enjoyed a tour of the city with a visit to the
Fountain of Youth, a visit to Ripley’s, great
restaurants and good food, and we had a Ghost
Tour of the City on Monday evening after
dinner! Not that I believe in Ghosts, but the
Ghost Tour was really great! The Ghost Tour
included a visit to a cemetery, an old drug store
with some wax figures, and we got to visit the
old jail in the city. That location was ranked 4th
in the country for paranormal activity. I am
sure I was in the presence of ghosts that night
but I did not see them because they are ghosts!
The city is the oldest continuously occupied
European-established settlement within the
borders of the United States. The perfect place
for ghosts! Our Chapter appreciates all those
who attended and helped and contributed to
making our Chapter Meeting successful this
year!

Financial Report Jo Ann Fuller presented the financial report. V. 2017 South Atlantic Chapter Meeting The Board discussed various venues for the South Atlantic Chapter 2017 Annual Membership Meeting. The group decided to
present to the general session New Orleans, Louisiana as the suggested location.
Robert Pittman, a new chapter member and native of LA, will provide suggestions to the Time & Place Committee for an appropriate venue. The budget for the 2017 Annual Meeting will be $10,000. The Board also recommended the Program & Education Committee (Wendy Elliott and Matt Eckart) prepare the curriculum for the 2017 program. Vi. Other Business The Board discussed raising attendance at the chapter meeting. As we do not know the reason more of our membership doesn’t choose to attend, a suggestion was made to send a survey, via Survey Monkey, to the membership, which should provide more data. Bob Farmer will take the lead in designing the survey. The Board will communicate the desire to our National office that we would like to plan joint meetings with other chapters in order to spread the costs. The Board discussed the ongoing need to plan CPE outside the Annual Meeting as this enhances the Chapter’s opportunity for points in the National Chapter Recognition, and encourages members not able to travel to participate with chapter activities. Robbie Shields, National Membership representative shared that our Chapter qualified for one free TACC registration for the 2016 National meeting in Washington, DC, and that prize will be awarded via a name draw during the general session. Robbie also talked about new member training. He plans to make sure all new members receive an orientation as time permits in connection with the general session. He reiterated the boards’ responsibility to encourage all members’ involvement with the chapter. All board members concurred with Robbie. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
