Friday July 1st 5:00 pm
Pursuit race competitors will join the Happy Hour following the
race, and flags will be presented !
I hope everyone has made their plans for the events taking place at South Port over the July long weekend! A pursuit race on Friday, the Invitational Regatta on Saturday and Sunday, followed by Sail A Bration on Sunday afternoon. Vice Commodore Kelly Johnson is organizing the Friday events, Wes Arthur is handling the regatta, and Bill Steel is once again chairing the Sail A Bration. The Trillium (formerly the Fred Sanford) is looking sharp and running fine as the race committee vessel, thanks to the inspira-tion and initiative of John Marentette and the hard work of the members who gave her the extreme makeover. I am particularly looking forward to the “Sail Past” portion of the Sail A Bration schedule. As the West Wight Potter is, I believe, the smallest vessel in the harbor, members will be able to test their sailing skills first by having to find me somewhere out there in the lake, then by having to reach down to get their bottle of wine! And I will do my best to not fall in the water. Looking forward to seeing everyone over the Canada Day weekend at the Club! The next Executive Meeting is Tuesday, July 5 at 7:15 PM.
