1. DESCRIPTION

Confned space - a space or work area not designed or intended ornormal human occupancy, having limited means o egress and poornatural ventilation, and/or any structure, including buildings whichhave limited means o egress.

 This S! is provided to assist our worker entering a confned spacewhere ha"ards are associated with. #owever, this is only a guidelinewith inormation pertaining to entering a confned space.

2. POTENTIAL HAZARDS

3. LOCATION:

Confned spaces identifed at entire '(! site

4. PRE-ACTIVITY MEETINGS/CO-ORDINATION: -

 The contractors and/or the representative designated to supervise the &ob will inorm the )ewaunee Construction *anager /Site +ngineer the Site Saety cer. The person contractor personnel designated tosupervise the &ob, will have the overall responsibility o all the saetymeasures being implemented

5. WORK PERMITS: -

Contractors should mandatorily take a Confined Space Work Permit  signed by theConstruction Manager, Safety Officer ater reviewing the site conditions,saety measures taken and contractor euipments on site.

6. SAE WORKING PROCED!RE: -

Contractor will ensure that the ollowing check points are ollowed asapplicable where the activity is being done  The confned space drained, gas reed, 0ushed all incoming

outgoing lines rendered sae by all suitable means  The confned space let open or resh air circulation beore entry

1*in 2 hrs beore entry ater opening the confned space3  The surrounding area checked barricaded.

 The drain, pit, sewer 0oor opening/ confned space checked or

presence o to%ic 0ammable vapors.

 

 The level o o%ygen inside the confned space checked 4

56.78. !roper ventilation lighting available/provided.

 The standby person is trained deputed outside to watch the

activity.  The euipment isolated 9T applied.

 The proper sca:old / ladder provided tied at the top.

 The 2;-volt lamp used or lighting.

 The saety harness used lieline anchored above the work

level.  The reuired !ersonal !rotective +uipments 1SC<= or supplied

air line hose mask 1i necessary3, leather/cotton hand gloves,saety glasses, saety shoes Saety harness or belt3 provided.

 The employees working in confned space are trained training

records are given to +#S beore the start o work.  The S!s Training records will always be available at the work

place.

 ". PERSONAL PROTECTIVE E#!IPMENT:

 The operators are trained in the process as well as the #igh risksinvolved. They are trained on the #igh-risk activity procedures.

• 'n case o any emergency contractor will immediately inorm theSite Construction *anager or i he in unavailable, the Site Saetycer.

• <ased on the emergency situation, urther necessary action to be

taken keeping the )ewaunee site management in loop.

1&. PERIODIC INSPECTION O PROCED!RES: -

 The work instructions and saety procedures are reviewed annually.
