AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN 18 YEARS

It is fascinating to design things that move people (and others).I was responsible as a designer and a senior designer for quite a few automotive design projects in several genres - sedans, trucks, SUV, buses, and minivan for two major Korean manufacturers - GM Daewoo and Kia Motors. It is even more fascinating to see people enjoying those automobiles anywhere I traveled.

INNOVATIVE PRODUCT DESIGN 2.5 YEARS

DEKA R&D, owned by Dean Kamen, an acknowledged inventor, is an innovative engineering firm with some 200 exceptional engineers working on various products ranging from portable insulin pump to stair-climbing, self-balancing power chair, and Segway, a new format of pedestrian mobility device.Appointed as first director of industrial designer at DEKA, I was charged to set up an industrial design group working closely with engineers. The primary project was to design next generation of iBOT, a stair-climbing and self-balancing power chair, which went to market on 2005.
