The unit is not disconnected from the house currentas long as it is connected to the AC outlet, even if theunit itself has been turned off. Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if you do notintend to use it for an extended period of time. Todisconnect the cord, pull it out by the plug, never bythe cord itself. Take care that your fingers or other objects do notget pinched by the front cover of the unit when youplace a disc on the disc tray. The front coverautomatically slides up and down when the disc trayopens and closes.Inst alling Allow adequate air circulation to prevent internalheat buildup. Do not place the unit on surfaces (rugs, blankets,etc.) or near materials (curtains, draperies) that mayblock the space under the unit. Do not install the unit near heat sources such asradiators or air ducts, or in a place subject to directsunlight, excessive dust, mechanical vibration orshock. Do not install the unit in an inclined position. It isdesigned to be operated in a horizontal positiononly. Do not place heavy objects on the unit. Do not place the unit on soft surfaces (such as rugs,blankets, or matresses) or any projections that mayblock the movement of the front cover. If the unit is brought directly from a cold to a warmlocation, moisture may condense inside the unit. Ifthis happens, playback may not start. When you firstinstall the unit, or when you move it from a cold to awarm location, wait for about one hour beforeoperating the unit.Operat ing volt age and AC plugThis unit does not have a voltage selector. You canoperate the unit between 110 and 240 V AC, 50/60Hz.If the AC plug of your unit does not fit into the walloutlet, attach the AC plug adaptor (supplied withmodels other than Hong Kong model).Model for Hong KongThe model for Hong Kong has an AC plug as shownbelow. Use two R6 (size AA) batteries. If you use the batteries incorrectly, they may leak or explode. See notesbelow for correct usage. Insert the batteries with correct polarity as shown above.
