A factory owner stands to gain a lot from any roof top solar installation. Generally all factory and industry owners have roof top space which goes waste. Looking at the climate in India, most of the areas receive good sunlight for 300 to 320 days in a year. All industrial/ factory installations are large scale implementations, making it a cost efficient option. The factory owners also stand to gain an accelerated depreciation benefit, which is 80% for year 1 and 20% in the second year.

Home OwnersAny home owner having a clear roof can go for roof top solar installation, which maybe on-grid or off-grid. The benefits are a fixed rate of electricity for the next 25 years.

There is a further benefit for Industrial, Business, Home owners in terms of net metering, which is present in most of the states in India, in which the roof top solar owner can also sell the extra electricity generated back to the grid.
