Living in big cities is the dream of many youngsters. Some people think that
it is harmful to people’s health because of rising air pollution here while
others claim that with higher living standards, city dwellers can keep their
health better. I strongly agree with the statement for the following reasons.
First, it is argued that living in big cities offers the best health condition to
people. As a result of the intensive appearance of hospitals and availability of
cutting-edge technology, professional doctors can provide citizens with the
best health-care. However, facts have shown that the opposite. No matter
how advanced facilities are, city dwellers can hardly avoid rising air
pollution from factories, cars and others. Surveys have shown that the
number of people suffering respiration-related diseases is increasing
staggeringly, followed by a higher rate of deaths and other consequences. In
addition, due to working under high pressure to earn a living, people in big
cities experience constant stress and have little to enjoy their life. Insomnia,
hypertension and the like often appear in their lives, driving them crazy.
Second, the belief is that rich entertainment life can refresh and strengthen
the life of city dwellers. From movies, musical festivals to cultural events,
they can feel relaxed after hard-working days by enjoying these services.
Nevertheless, is it true? The busy life of work has deprived them of time to
savor such rich mental lives. In addition, more and more people turn to bars
and karaoke at nights to release their stress and even alcohol to kill their daily
worry. The consequence is that they wake up with hangover and more
tiredness. Furthermore, to come back to work effectively and meet the
deadline, they rush to fast-food restaurants, grab the bite, and that is it for the
entire day. With such a way of eating, their digestive systems are soon put in
danger while they are going to see their level of cholesterol escalating
everyday uncontrollably.
In brief, there are more pains than gains to live in big cities with regard to
health matter. The most important is that we-youngsters- should consider the
decision before leaving for this area for good.
1. Refresh: lam cho ai do tinh tao
2. Escalate: leo thang
3. Insomnia: mat ngu
4. Hangover: dau dau sau khi uong ruou
5. Staggeringly: mot cach dang kinh ngac
