To mix t e oranges, mix t e red and ye owwithin the lines to the left of the circle. First mixorange, and t en add more ye ow or ye ow-or-ange and more red or red-orange.

To mix the greens, mix the blue and yellowwit in t e ines to t e rig t o t e circ e. Firstmix green (2 oclock), and then add more yellowfor yellow-green (1 oclock) and more blue for

    ue-green (3 oc oc ).

To mix the purples or violets, mix the pink orrose with the blue within the lines at the bottomo t e circ e. First mix purp e (6 oc oc ), andthen add more blue for blue-violet (5 oclock)and red for red-violet (7 oclock).

Now eres t e ru e t at ma es t is wor : W enmixing two colors on the wheel to achieve high-intensity color, dont cross over the linestay ineac section. Just imagine, no more muddy co ors!

Crossing over the lines and mixing the colors

on either side of the line causes the mixtures toecome ess intense and s ig t y grayer. Cross twolines and even more graying occurs. This graying iscalled neutralizing. It is the result of a slight toucho t at t ird co or eing added to t e mix. To mixeart co ors, you simp y cross over t e ines or adda warm neutral to your mixtures.
