Some curious facts. The Great Pyramid of Giza is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World and in particular the oldest. Until Lincoln Cathedral was built in England in 1311, the Great Pyramid of Giza held the title of the tallest man-made structure in the world. He had this incredible record for 3871 years. Although many people associate with hieroglyphs pyramids, no hieroglyphics found inside the Great Pyramid of Giza. Contrary to popular belief, probably the pyramids were not built by slaves or prisoners but by regular salaried workers. One reason why the pyramids are so well preserved is due to the peculiar mortar they used. It is stronger than real stone, but it is not known exactly what was done. It is estimated that each pyramid took 200 years to build.This means that there were built one by one but often several pyramids were built simultaneously.

Although many people associate with hieroglyphs pyramids, no

hieroglyphics found inside the Great Pyramid of Giza.

The Pyramid of Cheops was built to be aligned perfectly with the

North. In fact, it is the structure of the world is more closely aligned

with the north. 

It is difficult to determine the exact number, but the weight of the

Cheops pyramid is estimated at about 6 million tonnes.

Despite the enormous external heat, the temperature inside the

pyramids is low and constant, at around 20 degrees Celsius.

The pyramids were originally covered with casing stones polished

white limestone.
