SummarySummary•Various activities for Solid Waste Eco-literacy are conducted on the banks of Kukkarahally Lake,Mysoresince 2000.

• Environment quiz, essay, poster competitions under World Environment Day for Students and Clean Up the World Campaign for Residents are conducted for over 250 weeks every Sunday.

•Many ward level awareness activities, display of posters and street play in the Dasara exhibitions during 2004,2005 and 2006 have been implemented.

•A street play “ plastic demon” in Kannada enacted over 20 times and used in the whole state as a puppet show under Year of Scientific Awareness’04.

• In this paper documentation of six years Eco-literacy for Solid Waste Management around KukkarahalliLake and environs are presented.
