Dear Maam/ Sir,
Greetings!
We, the undersigned are second year (2nd year) medical students
of Ateneo de Zamboanga University-School of Medicine. As it is
popularly known, the education offered by this institution is
geared towards acommunity-based learning where students are
exposed, not only to patients in clinics and hospitals, but in
communities as well. With this, students, at the end of each
semester, are deployed in groups to different areas who are in dire
need of medical assistance but whose location makes it difficult
for help to come. These areas become the adopted communities of
each group for four years and at the end of this period, students
are expected to make a difference in the lives of the people living
in that particular community.
Our group is assigned at Barangay Poblacion, Lakewood, Zamboanga
del Sur. One of the major health problems of this community is the
alarming number of hypertensive people. With its increasing rate,
it has become difficult for the health center to monitor all of
them. Thus, one of the projects our group has come up with is to
conduct a series of seminars and workshops where we will train a
group of core people who shall act as the monitoring team for this
purpose. To do this, we must equip them with an adequate number of
BP apparatus for their convenience and easy access. Moreover, we
have other lined-up projects for the benefit of this community
which are inclined to help uplift the status of the area and help
the natives in every possible way.
Having laid down the aforementioned premises, we would like to
knock on your giving heart for any assistance that you can extend
to help us augment the finances of our projects. Our group can only
do so little without the support of generous people like you. Rest
assured that whatever you give will be appropriated properly and
for the benefit of the people in the community. We will also be
transparent with the expenses we will incur in these endeavors.
Together, we can change lives and help make a difference in
Barangay Poblacion, Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur.
