ONE HUNDRED, HELIOCOL 50, COLLECTORS (PANELS) ON THE FLAT ROOF BUILDING (ADJACENT TO THE STETSON UNIVERSITY
HOLLIS SWIMMING POOL) AND CONNECTING SOLAR POOL HEATING SYSTEM TO SWIMMING POOL PLUMBING.
2. HELIOCOL 50, FSEC-CERTIFIED PANELS

4. THE DESIGN WIND SPEED FOR THIS INSTALLATION IS 120-MPH, EXPOSURE CATEGORY “B”, BUILDING IMPORTANCE III. UPLIFT IS
THE ONLY WIND FORCE OF CONSEQUENCE. DESIGN WIND FORCES ON SOLAR ARE: 20-PSF. CALCULATED WIND FORCES ARE
PZ1_15.9-PSF; PZ2_18.9-PSF; PZ3_18.9-PSF. WIDTH OF PZ2 IS 8-FT. PZ3 (ROOF CORNER AREAS) ARE 8-FT SQUARE. SOUTH EAST
AND NORTH EAST ROOF CORNERS ARE TREATED AS PZ2 BECAUSE OF PARAPET HEIGHT AT THOSE LOCATIONS.
5. PANEL LAY OUT ON ROOF SHALL BE PER FIGURE 01

7. PER FLORIDA MECHANICAL CODE, SOLAR POOL HEATING EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED TO PREVENT DAMAGE FROM
FREEZING. METHODOLOGY MAY BE BY DRAINDOWN (MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC), OR BY RECIRCULATION, OR THRU USE OF
FREEZE PROTECTION BLEED VALVES, OR BY A COMBINATION OF THESE METHODS TO BE SELECTED BY OWNER & CONTRACTOR.
8. CONTRACTORS (BOTH SOLAR & ROOFING) SHALL ADHERE TO REQUIREMENTS OF FBC CHAPTER 15 (ROOFING) AND BEST
PRACTICES OF THE NRCA ROOFING & WATERPROOFING MANUAL TO ENSURE THAT THE SOLAR INSTALLATION DOES NOT CAUSE
ROOF LEAKS AT INITIAL INSTALLATION OR AS THE SYSTEM “AGES”.
