1. How to access Soil Health Management Application and Start Sample
Registration? a) Invoke Internet Browser
b) Type http://soilhealth.dac.gov.in in address bar of the Internet Browser

c) The Screen will be displayed as shown in Figure 1.
d) User can login as per assigned Login-ID and Password for Sample Registration Role.
e) After logging into the Website, the screen will be displayed as given below in Figure-2.

f) Click on Sample Registration option given on the left side menu to access Sample Registration
Screen. Click on Simple form. The screen will be displayed as in Figure-3

g) There are three options available-New Sample Registration, Saved Sample Registrations and
Submitted Sample Registrations
h) Click on New Sample Registration to register a New Soil Sample.

The data for the following fields in Figure -4 may be entered under “Sample Details”
Sample Number- Sample Number will be generated by the system after entering complete data
Date of Receipt-Date of Receipt of the Sample
Composite Sample-This will be checked by default, as most of the samples are Composite in nature.
If it is not composite, this box may be unchecked.

Source Type- The source who has collected the Sample
Source Name- Name of the Person who collected the sample
Date of Soil Sampling- Date on which Soil Sample is collected from the field
Source Details-Address of the Person who collected the sample
Sample Grid-Longitute from--- Sample Grid-Longitude to :When the sample is a composite Sample,
the longitude of the sample grid from- to
Sample Grid-Latitude from--- Sample Grid-Latitude to : When the sample is a composite Sample, the
latitude of the sample grid from- to
Click on the “Farmer’s Details” Section. The screen will be displayed as in Figure-5

The data for the following fields in Figure -5 may be entered under “Farmer’s Details”
If the Sample is a Composite Sample there will be more than one farmer from whom the sample was
collected. In that case the Serial Number of the farmer will be generated by the system automatically in
“Famer Sr.No”. If the Sample is not a Composite one this field will be disabled.
Name- Name of the Farmer may be entered
State, District, Sub-District, Block, Village, Pin, UID, Address and Mobile Number of the Farmer may be
entered.( If SMS alerts are required by the farmer, then mobile number should be entered.)

Click on the “Land Details” Section. The screen will be displayed as in Figure-6

The data for the following fields in Figure -6 may be entered under “Land Details”.
Dag No./Khasra Number/Survey No.- This number may be entered as per the format followed in each
State.
Soil Type- Type of Soil
Longitude and Latitude - Longitude and Latitude of the Farm of individual Farmer
Land Topography- Topography of the land
Area of Land/Farm Size- Area of Land/Farm of farmer .
Irrigated/Unirrigated- If the Land is irrigated or unirrigated
Irrigation Source- Source of Irrigation used by Farmer
Click on the “Crops” Section. The screen will be displayed as in Figure-7 for entering “Crops ” details

The data for the following fields in Figure -7 may be entered .
Details of Crops for which fertilizer recommendations have been sought may be entered by clicking on
“Add” button
o A small window will be opened to enter crop details as in Figure7(a)
o The data for Crop Group, Crop , Variety, Duration, Ground Water Depth may be entered.
o Age of Tree may be entered if the crop is a Horticulture Crop. Click on Save button to save the
data.
o Yield- Expected Target yield as per STCR Equation developed for that particular District, Crop,
Soil Type . Yield unit may be entered. The yield range will be displayed . The user has to enter a
value within that range

o Area Under Cultivation-Area in which the crop will be cultivated by the farmer. Its unit also may
selected from the list.
o After entering the crops information the record may be saved by clicking on “Save “ button.
Under “Fertilizer Available under Farmers Locality” the fertilizers to be recommended may be entered in two
combinations-1) All straight fertilizers and 2) A complex fertilizer and other two straight fertilizers.
Organic Fertilizer can also be selected.
If the user wants to enter the details of Crops and fertilizers , then click on the button on right side and enter
the details as given in Figure 7(b)

Click on the “Sample Acceptance” Section. The screen will be displayed as in Figure-8

The Sample may be Accepted or Rejected. Click on “Save and New Sample Registration” to save the record and
enter the details of another Sample.
In case of Composite Sample Click on” Save and Add New Farmer” to save the record of one farmer and enter
the details of next farmer in Composite Sample.

Click on Refresh button to cancel the entry.
Now the Soil samples are registered. The Registered Soil Samples can be viewed by clicking “Saved Sample
Registration” button as given in Figure-3. Each registered Soil Sample may be submitted to next level by clicking
on Edit link and then click on “Submit” button. If any editing is done, first “Update” the record and then
“Submit”.

2. How to assign the Registered Samples to Soil Testing Laboratories? All the Submitted Sample Registration Details are to be assigned to concerned Soil Testing Laboratories for
testing. The Registered Soil Samples may be assigned to a particular Soil Testing Laboratory of that area. Click
on “Assign to Lab” on the left side or click on “Submitted Sample Registrations” . The Screen will be displayed as
in Figure-9

Select the Registered Samples from the grid and then select State and Lab Name from the combo box. Then click
on “Assign” Button. Sample Registration activities are completed and the user can log out now by clicking on the
“Log out” button given on top right corner of the screen.
3. For Lab-In-Charge The user who has been assigned the role of Lab-in-Charge may login now using the assigned Login-id and
Password. The Lab-In-Charge can assign the samples to Analysts. Click on SamplesSamples Received. The
screen will be displayed as in Figure-10

Lab In charge of a Soil Testing Laboratory can view all the Soil Samples assigned to that Lab. There is an
option to search for a particular Soil Sample also.

All the Assigned Soil Samples will be displayed in the Grid.
Select the name of Analyst from the Combo box given “Assign to” and Click on “Assign” button.
Now the selected Soil Sample will be assigned to that particular Lab Analyst. He will get the Lab Tests
done and then will login as “Lab Analyst” and will do Soil Sample Test Result Entry.
Lab Incharge can also edit the profile of the lab by clicking on “Soil Laboratory” given on the left side of
the screen.
4. For Analyst Lab Analyst will login with the User-ID and Password assigned. Lab analyst can enter the test results in the
system. The screen will be displayed as in Figure-11

The Analyst may click on the Sample Number for which Test result is to be entered. The screen will be displayed
as in Figure-12. . There is option for searching a Soil Sample using Soil Sample Number.

The result of each parameter tested may be entered for a selected Sample Number.
After entering the result click on “Submit” button to save the record.
Click on “Add New Test” to enter the result of another test.
5. How to EXIT from the system ?
To exit from the System at any time, click on “Log Out” given on the top right corner of the screen.
