On 30 April, SOFWERX hosted its first STEM Day. Twenty-seven students from Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania participated in a day of tours, presentations, and challenges. A select group of 9th and 10th grade students attended representing the school’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) program. Throughout the day, students observed SOFWERX’s demonstrated capabilities and participated in challenges that pushed them to collaborate and think outside of the box.

SOFWERX STEM Day

• 27 students and 4 teachers attended the first SOFWERX STEM Day.

• The history and purpose of SOFWERX was briefed.

• Several projects were displayed and demonstrated.

• A drone challenge was conducted, involving building and flying.

• The drones were donated to the school to encourage further development in building, flying, and coding.
